I hope friends who have been can share about attractions, costs, routes, tips, accommodation, and food — the more detailed the better.
Just last month, my friend and I returned from a six-day trip to Yunnan. We visited Dali, Lijiang, Erhai Lake, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Blue Moon Valley, and more! While checking tips online, I saw many netizens recommending a local guide in Kunming named Aping, saying he was very good, so I booked a trip with guide Aping.
He planned a six-day itinerary based on the attractions we wanted to visit. Before we arrived in Yunnan, he had arranged accommodation, tickets, transportation, etc., and even arranged a car to pick us up at the airport, saving us time waiting in line. Once in Yunnan, all we had to do was enjoy the sights! It was really great. We had a wonderful six days. Very grateful to guide Aping; we'll look for him again next time. To find him, search online: Yunnan guide Aping.

Feel the "spring city" atmosphere!
Day 2 Kunming – Stone Forest – Transfer to Chuxiong – Check into hotel
After breakfast, around 7:30 am depart by bus to the Stone Forest. Truly the stones are big, big are the stones indeed." Reciting this poem, one thinks of the Stone Forest. Visit the karst wonder – [Stone Forest], listen to each stone tell its story, see Ashima's incarnation stone, Sword Peak Pond, View Peak Pavilion, Two Birds Feeding, Stone Forest Lake, Stone Forest, etc. After lunch, return by bus to Kunming for a VIP tea break with a cup of hot authentic Pu'er tea, experiencing Yunnan's thousand-year tea culture. After breakfast, depart for Dali, about 2.5 hours by car. Visit the renowned city of literature – [Dali Ancient Town], also known as Yeyu City, Forbidden City, Zhonghe Town. The two characters "Dali" on the gate are from Guo Moruo's calligraphy. Streets are laid out in a typical chessboard pattern. The scene of "three households share a well, every home has several pots of flowers" is still there.
Then take an [Erhai Lake special cruise] to enjoy the lake scenery. After breakfast, visit the [Folklore Culture Experience Area]. Then take a bus to Lijiang to visit the AAAA-level [Lashihai Scenic Area] or [Dongba Valley] to experience the ancient Tea Horse Road; head directly to the source of Lashihai. This is a migratory bird base, the cultural source of Lijiang, and an important town on the Tea Horse Road. The simple Naxi people live here; you can feel the purest Naxi culture, experience the caravan history and culture, find spiritual awe, and perceive the cultural imagery of boat on water, people on boat, and songs of people – presenting Lijiang's unique and profound ethnic culture through water, mountain, and emotion.
Then explore Lijiang, a World Cultural Heritage city. Stroll through [Lijiang Old Town and Square Street] (self-guided, can try Lijiang specialty snacks at your own expense), surrounded by three rivers and shaped like an official seal, dominating all directions. You'll appreciate the unique style of "every household with a stream flowing by its door, willows hanging down like Jiangnan." In the evening, enjoy a large-scale song and dance show worth 280 yuan, [Lishui Jinsha] or [Impression Lijiang]. After breakfast, visit [Shuhe Ancient Town or Baisha Ancient Town]. Shuhe, called "Shaowu" in Naxi language, means "village under the high peak" – the mountain behind the village resembles piled treasures. It is one of the earliest Naxi settlements in the Lijiang basin and a well-preserved important post on the Tea Horse Road. After lunch, head to the [Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area], known as "Oriental Switzerland." Starting from a meadow at 3,000 meters, pass through tall pines and firs, gaze at the sacred Naxi mountain, and admire the magnificent Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
