Roaming Through Mountains and Waters

In 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic continued unabated, and pandemic prevention measures were strengthened everywhere. Before we knew it, December had arrived, and the long-planned trip to Tibet this autumn could no longer happen. A six-year travel streak had to be put on hold. Over those six years, I visited many places, saw countless sights, and sampled many local specialties. I not only broadened my horizons but also opened my mind. Wherever I went, I snapped plenty of photos while soaking in the scenery. Recently, I reorganized those photos and selected some to compile into albums, recording these six years of travel.

In 2016, due to limited vacation time, the trips were relatively short, and the destinations were only Guilin, Yangshuo, Beihai, and Weizhou Island in Guangxi.

In 2019, I arranged two trips. One was to Gulangyu Island in Xiamen during the Spring Festival holiday. The other, using vacation days, started with Zhangjiajie in Hunan, then entered Guizhou, and finally ended with a visit to friends in Wenshan, Yunnan.

In early 2020, the sudden COVID-19 outbreak brought great uncertainty to travel. Initially, the only plan was Qingdao, close to Tianjin. Later, with the domestic epidemic situation relatively stable and still craving the cuisine of Chengdu and Yunnan, I decided to head from Qingdao to Mount Emei and then to Shangri-La, Xishuangbanna, and Tengchong in Yunnan. However, in Xishuangbanna I received notice that my already-booked flight to Tengchong was cancelled last minute, so I had to skip Tengchong and return to Tianjin via Kunming. After returning, I went to Hainan twice for some errands. Although the errands didn’t go as hoped, I took the opportunities to explore some sights along Hainan's eastern route.
