Yan'an is the endpoint of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army's 25,000-li Long March and the "sacred place" of the Chinese revolution. Here are not only revolutionary historical sites such as Baota Mountain and Zaoyuan, but also green mountains, clear waters, and countless buildings. Nowadays, Yan'an's urban construction is becoming more and more beautiful, especially at night when Yan'an shines like a brilliant pearl.
Sacred Valley · Golden Yan'an
Standing by the Yanhe River bend, you can see the Sacred Valley · Golden Yan'an tourist attraction, built mainly with Yan'an's old street scenes. Golden Yan'an is the core section of Yan'an Sacred Valley Cultural Tourism Area, focusing on inheriting Yan'an's traditional culture, with the theme of old Yan'an's historical context and Loess customs, striving to recreate the splendid scene of Yan'an in the 1930s and revive the glory of the sacred place.
This place holds the urban memory of Yan'an and is a new tourist destination and city sub-center. Golden Yan'an covers an area of 1.79 square kilometers, modeled after the old city of Yan'an, restoring the architectural style of Yan'an city in the 1930s, telling the history, culture, and folk customs of Yan'an. The scenic area plans to build tourism projects such as folk culture tourism streets, Yan'an-themed hotels, museums, cultural creative streets, and folk experience areas.
The Golden Yan'an scenic area harmoniously integrates Yan'an's landscape ecology with the city's cultural context, reflecting a unique urban development design concept, aiming to create a three-dimensional, smart, ecological, and civilized new Yan'an, making it a pilgrimage site for Chinese red revolutionary culture and a world-class display window for Loess folk culture.
Baota Mountain is the symbol of Yan'an revolutionary sacred place, located in the center of Yan'an, over 1,000 meters above sea level. Baota Mountain integrates historical sites and revolutionary relics, possessing representative human and natural landscapes of Yan'an. It was once a sacred place aspired by people of lofty ideals during the Anti-Japanese War and the revolution, inheriting the Chinese revolutionary spirit and Yan'an spirit, and is an important patriotic education base.
At night, Baota Mountain is surrounded by colorful lights, shining brightly in the distance. Every night from 8:30 to 8:50, the Baota Mountain night light show plays music videos, using 3D holographic projection technology to perform a glorious epic of the Yan'an revolution on the mountain body.
Qingliang Mountain and Fenghuang Mountain
Qingliang Mountain faces Baota Mountain and Fenghuang Mountain across the Yanhe River, more than 100 meters high. The Ten Thousand Buddha Temple on the mountain is a famous Song Dynasty grotto. From 1937 to 1947, the printing workshop of the Central Printing Factory, the cultural base of the Chinese revolution, was located on Qingliang Mountain, so it is also called "News Mountain," playing an indelible role in the history of the Chinese revolution.
Adjacent Fenghuang Mountain National Forest Park has quiet stone paths and refreshing green shade. This is the highest point of Yan'an's terrain. Climbing to the top allows a panoramic view of the entire city, making people feel relaxed and happy. Fenghuang Mountain has become a new sightseeing and leisure resort in Yan'an.
At night, Qingliang Mountain and Fenghuang Mountain are surrounded by LED lights, forming the largest night view area in the center of Yan'an together with the opposite Baota Mountain.
