The Yellow River Extends into the White Clouds - A Travelogue of Hukou Waterfall
Introduction: Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River is located in the riverbed of the Yellow River within the Qin-Jin Grand Canyon. To the east of the waterfall is Linfen area in Shanxi, and to the west is Yichuan County in Yan'an, Shaanxi. The Hukou Waterfall on the Shaanxi side is located about 35 kilometers east of Yichuan County town, Yan'an City. Because the Yellow River carries a lot of sediment, this has become a rare golden yellow waterfall in the world. When the Yellow River roars all the way to the Qin-Jin Canyon, the river width suddenly narrows from over 400 meters to 50 meters, pouring into a stone groove with a drop of 30 meters. Due to its shape resembling a teapot pouring water, it is named Hukou (teapot mouth) Waterfall. The Yellow River water is gathered by the canyon, converging into a single torrent, roaring and rushing down, plunging into a deep pool, splashing huge waves, and stirring up clouds of mist and spray. The scene is extremely spectacular. Standing by the river and watching, everyone is stunned. This place is also praised as the 'national spirit', 'soul of the Yellow River', and a spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation's fearless march forward. Along the Yellow River Highway, there are several viewing platforms. The scenery along the way is desolate and stark, also spectacular.
