Want to have a cheerful BBQ and tent camping? Luoyang Dinosaur Valley Drifting can fulfill all your fantasies about summer!
Every day, I repeat monotonous work and household chores, always wanting to give myself a vacation. Taking advantage of the weekend, I set off for a relaxing trip. Before leaving, I carefully researched nearby drifting spots. Since I wanted to relax, of course I needed to enjoy the scenery while having fun. I happened to hear about the summer event at Luoyang Dinosaur Valley Drifting, and without hesitation, I gathered a few friends and we set off.
In summer, the sun rises early. We prepared and started our journey at 7:30. After applying a thick layer of sunscreen, I specially brought my sunscreen spray to ensure perfect sun protection. Oh yeah! Then we took the Zheng-Shao-Luo Expressway and the Er-Guang Expressway, exiting at Ruyang Station. After about two hours, following the navigation, we reached the second roundabout in Yang County. After many twists and turns, we finally saw the scenic area sign after turning right!
Recently, it's the Dinosaur Valley Drifting 7 Fantasy Drifting Season event, and it was bustling with excitement even from outside.
Wow, so many beauties! Such a feast for the eyes today! It turned out that beautiful event guides were stationed here.
Crowds of people were everywhere. We watched the excitement for a while, then had a simple meal at a nearby food stall, and then quickly went to the ticket office to prepare for drifting!
After buying tickets, we stored our phones and other personal items in the locker, followed the instructions to get life jackets and safety helmets. There were also water guns, water basins, and other fun tools for sale nearby. They looked quite amusing, so we couldn't resist buying two water guns and two water basins. Then we took a sightseeing car to the starting point of the drifting.
Four people per rubber raft, and the four of us went together. Just as we got on the raft, there were already 'enemies' ahead launching an attack on us. Do we have to be this excited? We hadn't even prepared yet, okay?
With the help of a safety officer, we entered the main river channel and began to rush forward. Shouts and laughter mixed together, truly matching the fiery weather.
At the beginning, the water was rapid, rushing down from upstream. Strange rocks stood in the river, creating difficulties and thrills in the rapids. One rapid after another, accompanied by waves and whirlpools, it was truly breathtaking. Wherever the raft passed, every gully and valley streamed with water, splashing like pearls and jade. The water swirled and twisted, following the turns of the peaks, narrow and swift, wide and slow, deep and calm, shallow and noisy. Suddenly, the raft turned, and a rapid appeared, making the little raft like a leaf, spinning with the water and drifting into a stretch of rapids and rocks.
Then, the raft quickly accelerated under the water's pull, bumping against this rock and then that one, driven by the waves. In places with large drops, there were whirlpools, and the raft tilted into the water. Sitting in the raft, we were already soaked through by the waves. After this stretch, the water calmed for a moment, but then another stretch of rocky rapids appeared ahead, with one rapid after another.
We sat in the raft with no choice at all, only able to watch as the water carried us toward the splashing waves. The rapid currents came one after another. Later, we couldn't care about anything else; we just held tightly to the handles of the raft. In places where the current was too strong, we couldn't even open our eyes. We just felt waves hitting from all directions, left and right. There was no time to catch our breath. The rubber raft often crashed into large rocks in the water. After a few waves turned, another wave would hit.
During drifting, scenes of chasing were common. Your water splashed on me, my water splashed on you, your raft bumped into mine, and the spinning after collisions made us dizzy. The raft kept drifting downstream. The drop in water level made the raft drift faster and turn more sharply. People's shouts echoed through the canyon, and the sound drifted with the wind among the peaks and streams.
Gradually, the water became calmer. Then, colorful flags appeared on both sides of the water ahead. Before we could bail out the water in our raft, several rafts began to surround us. Safety helmets and ladles were all put to use. In the calm water, water fights began. Some used paddles to splash water when you weren't looking, getting you completely wet; some sneaked up behind you and poured water on your head with a ladle, startling you; some, after their 'target' escaped, attacked another person who was being besieged and had no chance to fight back; some... In an instant, laughter and the sound of water splashing lingered in the canyon. It was a collective soaking!
Only when the drifting reached a calm section near the end did we have time to appreciate the beautiful scenery on both sides. Looking out, we saw clear river water flowing beneath us, green mountains slowly moving backward on both banks. In the canyon, the mountains turned and the water curved, with mountains reflected in the water and water winding around the mountains. We experienced the joy of burning passion and enjoyed the leisurely feeling of drifting.
At the end of the drifting, I instantly felt a different spiritual world. Away from the hustle and bustle of the world, experiencing the tranquility of nature was so refreshing. It truly felt like a primeval forest, appearing before my eyes in its pure and unadorned state, yet still incredibly beautiful. Along the way, birds sang, flowers bloomed, trees shaded the path, wild fruits hung everywhere, sparse grass grew, the air was fresh, and people felt like dancing butterflies...
The feeling of drifting is always memorable. Over the long drifting course, different groups have different post-drifting feelings, but the gains remain in memory forever. Knowing that the drifting was about to end, a sense of unfinished enjoyment came over me. Although my clothes were soaked through, this intoxicating joy still stirred my body and mind, giving me new expectations for the next drifting!
