September 22 is International Panda Day, and the giant panda pavilion at Luanchuan Bamboo Sea Wildlife Park officially opened its doors!

After a long journey of 1,300 kilometers to Henan, the giant pandas Maimai and Lingyan spent a week in "closed-door training" before finally stepping out of their enclosures and making their official debut.

Finally, the national treasures are here! Viewers in the live stream were thrilled.

At 9:40 a.m., Maimai paced into his outdoor activity area. Reporters saw Maimai after days apart. Being in the outdoor enclosure for the first time, Maimai seemed a bit nervous. He kept circling along the wall, as if familiarizing himself with the environment. The caretaker, Peng Bojun, told us that this behavior is how he leaves his scent and marks his territory.

"We set out at seven this morning! My son couldn't sleep all night when he heard we were coming to see the pandas." As soon as the park opened at 10 a.m., both adults and children were eager, heading straight to Lingyan's indoor enclosure. On the other side of the glass, Lingyan slowly approached. Four-year-old Huang Jinghao excitedly ran back and forth, shouting Lingyan's name. "I never thought I could see pandas right at my doorstep. Now that I've seen them, they're even cuter than I imagined."

"I was so excited seeing the pandas that I forgot to start the live stream. I just turned it on now." Sister scenic spots came to show support, and the live stream attracted countless netizens. At the newly opened giant panda pavilion, a reporter met a staff member from Chongdugou Scenic Area who was live streaming: "As a native of Luanchuan, we are truly proud that the national treasure pandas have made their home at our doorstep. Folks in the live stream, if you think the pandas are adorable, come visit us in Luanchuan!"

"Everyone came to see the pandas today. Our whole family is here." Li Jialong, who runs a guesthouse at the foot of the mountain, said that last night his guesthouse hosted two mothers with children who had come specifically to see the pandas. "Cangfang used to be just a small mountain village. Now not only do we have big tigers, but also national treasure pandas. Life for us Cangfang locals will only get better from here."

To celebrate the opening of the giant panda pavilion, the entire Luanchuan Bamboo Sea Wildlife Park offered free admission today. General Manager Mou Mingge told reporters that the park currently sees about 10,000 visitors daily. "To ensure a good experience for tourists during the National Day Golden Week, the park will implement visitor caps once the daily number exceeds 10,000, guaranteeing a pleasant visit to the panda pavilion and the entire park."

At the same time, Mou Mingge, General Manager of Luanchuan Bamboo Sea Wildlife Park, has a few tips for visitors: "Giant pandas prefer a quiet environment, so we ask that you do not make loud noises during your visit. Also, when viewing the outdoor enclosures, for the pandas' safety, please be civil visitors and do not feed the pandas."
