China's most beautiful cable car, shuttling through the colorful forests with layers of autumn colors, tourists all complain the ride is too short
The cable car, also called a ropeway, is a device that uses steel cables to transport people or goods. It is very common in many mountainous scenic areas. People can take cable cars up and down mountains to reduce physical exertion, since traveling is a tiring yet joyful activity. This is especially true for the elderly, children, the physically weak, or those carrying heavy photography equipment. The existence of cable cars is truly wonderful. Although you have to pay a ticket fee, it saves time and effort, making the journey more relaxing.
In fact, for travelers, a cable car is not just a time-saving and labor-saving means of transportation; it is also a moving viewing platform. From the cable car, we can overlook the beautiful scenery of the scenic area, and the view changes every second. It can truly be said, 'In the cable car, traveling through a painting.'
Recently, Yu Fan and I traveled to Baiyun Mountain in Luoyang City, Henan Province. It is a very beautiful place, especially now in autumn, when the forests are fully tinged with colors. It is breathtaking and makes visitors linger.
During our two days at Baiyun Mountain, we climbed Yuhuang Peak, the summit of the Central Plains, the main peak of Funiu Mountain, and the best viewing point in the Baiyun Mountain scenic area. We also descended to the Jiulong Grand Canyon, which has a drop of over 500 meters from the peak. We visited the famous Baiyun Lake and hiked through the beautiful Luhua Valley. Among these famous attractions, what impressed us most were the three cable cars on Baiyun Mountain.
On the third day of our arrival at Baiyun Mountain, we got up at 3 a.m. to shoot the sunrise on Yuhuang Peak. Carrying our photography gear, we climbed the summit of the Central Plains, Yuhuang Peak at 2,216 meters above sea level. The entire climb had 3,500 steps, and it was truly exhausting—walking a bit, resting a bit, gasping for breath. The morning temperature was low, and it was very uncomfortable. At that moment, I wished there was a cable car to take us from the base to the top (in fact, there is a cable car, but it wasn't open yet).
In the afternoon, we walked down from Luhua Valley along the Jiulong Grand Canyon. To see all 18 waterfalls, we needed to descend nearly 4,000 steps. By the time we reached the bottom, the scenery along the way was indeed delightful, but it demanded a lot of physical strength. Fortunately, we didn't have to go back the same way to ascend; instead, we took the Jiulong Grand Canyon cable car.
It is understood that the Jiulong Grand Canyon cable car is a modern cable car with leading technology in the world. It has a total length of 1,511.04 meters and is a detachable gondola cable car provided by the world's top cable car company Doppelmayr. The total height difference along the line is 582.5 meters. The panoramic sightseeing cabins allow you to have a full view of the magnificent scenery of the Jiulong Grand Canyon.
Looking from the outside, the colorful cabins hanging among the mountains look like a beautiful necklace, themselves a stunning sight.
Sitting inside the cable car, through the transparent glass all around, you can see the grand autumn scenery—the mountains are fully covered with colorful forests, shining brilliantly under the sunlight. As the altitude rises, the view constantly changes, truly beautiful.
Shuttling through the colorful forests, crossing one mountain peak after another, the rolling mountains in the distance, the cascading Jiulong Waterfalls below, and the colorful autumn scenery around—all together form a moving picture. This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cable cars in China, with mountains, water, and colorful forests. It truly makes people linger and even feel the ride is too short, as if they haven't had enough.
