China's Most Beautiful Glass Bridge: Hills Covered in Colorful Layers, Waterfalls and Springs Below, Even More Stunning Than Zhangjiajie's
In recent years, with the opening of the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, scenic spots across the country have followed suit, making it almost a standard feature for every mountain-type scenic area. It seems that without a glass bridge, they would be embarrassed to call themselves famous attractions. Some places, despite lacking the conditions, insist on building two piers to create a glass bridge, building just for the sake of building, leading to severe homogenization. Gradually, glass bridges have lost their appeal, because they are all similar everywhere. The timid won't step on them anyway, and the brave have become numb after too many experiences. However, today Yu Fan still wants to recommend a glass bridge that is beautiful and less crowded, even more stunning than the glass bridge at Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon.
This glass bridge is located at Baiyun Mountain in Luoyang, which is home to China's highest peak, Yuhuang Peak of Funiu Mountain. It spans across the Jiulong Grand Canyon, with a drop of about 500 meters below the bridge connected by eighteen waterfalls, absolutely one of our most spectacular waterfall clusters. The surroundings of this glass bridge are the lushly vegetated peaks of Baiyun Mountain, and the current season is the most beautiful time of autumn.
Many friends might say, although it has a larger span and a deeper canyon below, isn't it still just a glass bridge? Why is it worth recommending?
Actually, in Yu Fan's opinion, although it has all the characteristics of other glass bridges—the timid will still feel terrified walking on it, and you can still take beautiful photos, even capturing reflections like a mirror of the sky—it is not just an ordinary glass bridge; it is an excellent viewing platform.
Strolling on the bridge, you can see the pools below and the waterfalls beyond the pools. You should know that this is the source of three rivers: the Yi River, Ru River, and Bai River, and they respectively flow into the Yellow River, Huai River, and Yangtze River—three famous rivers of China. So this seemingly small waterfall has extraordinary significance.
Pressing the camera against the glass bridge and shooting downward, you can see the leaves below with distinct layers—green, yellow, red, and shades in between. It is no exaggeration to describe them as colorful.
Around the glass bridge, every angle offers different beautiful views. Below the outer side of the bridge, not only do waterfalls spring out from between the rocks, but there is also a swaying suspension bridge above, with an occasional two or three tourists passing by. It is truly a good place with beautiful scenery and few people.
When we shift our gaze from below the bridge to directly ahead, we see a different perspective. You must understand that this is at a height of several hundred meters above the canyon between two mountains. Without this glass bridge, such a view would normally only be seen from a drone, but that is far less intuitive than seeing it with one's own eyes.
Then move your gaze a little downward, and you can overlook the beautiful scenery in the canyon—lakes, houses, and forests all come into view. Because the forests have different tree species, the colors of their leaves vary, thus forming a gorgeous and colorful autumn landscape.
Below the bridge, winding paths lead to secluded spots, and the peaks turn and roads twist. If you walk down, you will successively see the Nine Maidens Pool, White Dragon Pool, Dragon Maiden's Bed, and Azure Dragon Pool. The water is not very deep, but the pools are connected in a series. According to ancient legends, there are nine dragons here, hence nine pools, divided into red, orange, yellow, green, azure, blue, purple, black, and white. Accompanying the pools above and below are waterfalls. Eighteen waterfalls link the nine deep pools together, with a drop of over 500 meters, truly magnificent.
This is a drone's perspective. You watch the scenery on the bridge, and the people watching the scenery watch you. Walking on the glass bridge feels like strolling on clouds. Leaning on the railing and looking into the distance, most of the Jiulong Grand Canyon unfolds before your eyes. Adorned with rich and vivid autumn colors, everything in sight is like a huge landscape painting extending into the distance, intoxicating the hearts of tourists and stunning the entire autumn.
