Xin'an County's scenic spot has both indoor and outdoor hot springs and ancient villages, spending less and having fun, sharing a guide

Last week, during the holiday, many people went out to play, and of course I was no exception. Compared with the previous crowded holidays, this holiday was truly comfortable and stress-relieving — the Tugudong Scenic Area in Xin'an County. Recently, the weather suddenly turned cold, and since tomorrow is the weekend, many people want to go out but don’t know where to go. So I wrote my travel experience from last week into a guide, divided into four parts, to share with everyone.

Tugudong Village was built before the Yuan Dynasty and is now divided into two parts: the old village and the new village. There are 40 cave-yard style residences from the Ming and Qing dynasties and the Republic of China period in the village, which has been awarded honorary titles such as "Provincial Historical and Cultural Village" and "Provincial Characteristic Landscape Tourism Village". Tugudong is an underground earth cave dwelling over 1,000 meters deep with interconnected large and small caves, also called Tugudong, from which the village gets its name.

As soon as we arrived at the village, we were amazed by its rustic charm! Especially a house named "Tugudong Village," whose walls were largely made of wood, with various tile patterns and different-sized earthen jars embedded in the wall, adding a lot of mystery to the house.

PS: The bench at the entrance is really great for taking photos.

Next, we took a general tour of the Tugudong village landscape. This mainly included the He Family Courtyard built in the Qing Dynasty, the Chen Family Courtyard and the Shao Family Courtyard, both over 100 years old. In all three courtyards, cave dwellings serve as the main rooms. The style of each residence in the village is basically the same: on the west side, there are earthen cave dwellings dug against the cliff, warm in winter and cool in summer; in front of the caves are symmetrical side rooms on the north and south, with walls made of adobe, stone, or blue bricks; at the front is the entrance hall, forming a quadrangle courtyard layout.

Soon we got to the highlight — officially visiting Tugudong.

The most famous attraction in Tugudong Scenic Area is the Han-Tibetan Military Tunnel. The underground ancient cave in the scenic area is 1,800 meters long, warm in winter and cool in summer, with a constant temperature of about 24°C all year round. The space is relatively narrow, and the cave is equipped with light strips, so it's clearly visible. There are multiple earthen cave rooms in the passage that can accommodate people, as well as small granaries, kitchens, and small earthen caves containing weapons everywhere.

After visiting the village and the Han-Tibetan Military Tunnel, it was about 3:30 PM. Before coming, we heard that Tugudong Village has both indoor and outdoor hot springs, so we saved some time to soak in the hot springs.

Winter is very dry, and work is tiring every day. Soaking in the hot springs is really super comfortable. Since it was winter, the outdoor hot spring was cold, so we soaked in the indoor hot spring for two hours, feeling physically and mentally relaxed!

PS: In spring and summer, you can soak in the outdoor hot spring; just looking at it is very enjoyable!
