Last night, I had a dream — such a beautiful dream that I didn't want to wake up.

It was as if I had traveled back in time. I returned to ten years ago, wandering aimlessly through Xinduhui. Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared before me. She was 24, so beautiful, and my gaze froze on her — I couldn't look away. She was my first love. We had been together for five years, but family circumstances forced us to part. This time, I was determined not to let her go.

We talked more and more, and before parting, we exchanged contact information.

The scene blurred, and then shifted. She and I were at Oscar Cinema to watch a movie. After buying tickets, we saw it was still early, so we went to the nearby grid shops. There were many such stalls around Oscar Cinema, filled with all kinds of fascinating goods. She stopped in front of a pair of tassel earrings, her eyes showing how much she liked them. Without saying a word, I bought them and put them on her myself... When the movie started — it was a romance — at the moment the protagonists embraced, I took her hand for the first time. She didn't pull away; she let me hold it tightly. In that moment, I felt incredibly happy.

My eyes blurred again, and when they cleared, she was wearing a pure white wedding dress and standing at the entrance of Xinduhui. She said, "This is where we met and got to know each other. I want it to be where we promise ourselves to each other." Overjoyed, I hugged her and made my vow. We got married!

Our happiness continued. We had a child, and together we brought our child to Xinduhui. By then, Xinduhui had a completely new look — so different that I barely recognized it. The renovated Xinduhui was dazzling even at night. In the evening, I took my beloved and our child to the snack street for dinner, then let the child play joyfully in the Snow World. She and I laughed as we watched the fruit of our love. That moment seemed to freeze. My heart felt warm and happy, as if I possessed the whole world.

Time flew. We grew old. Even with her white hair, she was still beautiful in my eyes. I held her hand and brought her back to Xinduhui — where we had met, known each other, and promised ourselves. I made her a cappuccino with my own hands. We sat in a small pavilion; she leaned against me, holding the coffee, and recalled every bit of our happy memories...

The ringtone of my phone woke me from the dream. I could feel that I was smiling. A few days ago, I read a report about Xinduhui getting a new look. Maybe it was a case of "what you think by day, you dream by night." Due to the pandemic and the construction of the subway station, I haven't been to Xinduhui for a long time.
