In the Ancient Capital Luoyang, Experiencing the Worldly Pleasures - Route Guide (Part 2)
As the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties, Luoyang boasts rich culture and history, surrounded by mountains and rivers, making it an ideal travel destination! Wearing Hanfu here offers an immersive experience of Tang Dynasty life. The city is filled with ancient architecture, creating a strong atmosphere! Recommended travel duration: Two days and one night. Check-in spots: Longmen Grottoes, Luoyang Museum, Lijing Gate, Cross Street, White Horse Temple, Luoyang Ancient Tombs Museum, Jiuzhou Pond, etc. Transportation recommendations: High-speed rail, subway, bus, taxi, shared bikes (highly recommended as attractions are close and traffic can be heavy, saving you a lot of time!). Accommodation recommendations: Xigong District or Chanhe District in Luoyang, close to city center attractions and cheaper than Cross Street.
Day 1: After getting off at the high-speed rail station, first visit the Longmen Grottoes, which takes about 2 to 3 hours. For lunch, you can eat at Quanshun. Then go to the Luoyang Museum to admire the treasures left by our ancestors. At 5 p.m., head to Lijing Gate to experience the cultural heritage of Luoyang's old streets. At 6 p.m., the Cross Street vendors set up, allowing you to experience the local flavor of Luoyang.
Longmen Grottoes: Ticket 90 yuan. It's recommended to go early in the morning. The scenic area is very large, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Luoyang Museum: Free. Be sure to reserve in advance on the official WeChat account. Lijing Gate: There used to be many shops selling the Four Treasures of the Study, and now there are many cultural creative stores. Zhendao Dan and Peony Post Office are quite famous! Cross Street: A street of snacks, a small street that even locals visit. If you catch the vendors setting up, the scene is spectacular.
Day 2: First, visit the White Horse Temple to appreciate the beauty of Chinese temples. Then go to the city's most unique Ancient Tombs Museum to experience the feeling of descending into a tomb chamber from novels. The last stop is Jiuzhou Pond. It is recommended to watch "The Night Banquet of the Divine Capital" to enjoy imperial court music and dance and feel the charm of Tang Dynasty culture.
White Horse Temple: Ticket 35 yuan. It is the first ancient temple in China, with antique charm. Be sure to check out the Zhiyu Tea House. There are also temples from other countries, where you can learn about Buddhist cultures. Xigong Small Street: Although the food on this street is not locally native, it has become a major feature due to the locals' love for these old shops. Jiuzhou Pond: The palaces here are even more magnificent and make for better photos! Recommended: The "Night Banquet of the Divine Capital" performance (includes free tickets, Hanfu changing, and ascending Yaoguang Hall for a panoramic view of the Sui-Tang city). Great value for money [赞R]. Ancient Tombs Museum: Free, reservation required in advance. This museum is not only down-to-earth but also "down-to-the-grave" (a pun), featuring exquisite murals worth seeing!
️️️!!! College students must bring their student ID cards; basically all scenic spots offer half-price tickets for students ️️️!!! Do not drink soup at the scenic spots, do not drink soup at the scenic spots, do not drink soup at the scenic spots — important things are said three times! The soup is really bland, not tasty at all (you can give a like, and I'll later post about food) ️️️!!! If the hotel is too expensive or you can't find accommodation, you can choose a bathhouse!
