Weekend Getaway | “Wind Rises in Luoyang, Dream into the Divine Capital”——A 2-Day, 1-Night Luoyang Travel Guide
Hi, I'm Zhi Zhi, a blogger sharing where to go on weekends.
“Wind rises in Luoyang, dream into the divine capital.”
Luoyang is a poem precipitated in the long river of time, with ancient city walls, long and winding lanes… bearing countless stories and legends.
If this is your first time in Luoyang, here is a 2-day, 1-night Luoyang travel guide suitable for a weekend trip. Please keep it.
⭐️Transportation Recommendations⭐️

⚡️ Metro: from 2 yuan, Lines 1 and 2 basically cover most of Luoyang's attractions
⚡️ Bus: from 1 yuan
⚡️ Taxi: starting fare 8 yuan; ride-hailing services are also plentiful
⚡️ Shared bikes and shared e-scooters are available

⭐️Tips for Each Attraction⭐️
World Cultural Heritage, 5A scenic spot, a must-visit for first-timers in Luoyang. Only when you get there will you know how awe-inspiring Longmen Grottoes are!
Tips:
1. Protect yourself from the sun if visiting in summer.
2. Expect many visitors on weekends and holidays.
3. You don't necessarily have to climb up to photograph the Lushena Buddha; taking a panoramic shot from the opposite bank is also very stunning.
4. Duration: 3–5 hours.
5. Preferential policies available; bring your ID for seniors, children, active military, teachers, etc.
6. No reservation needed.
After leaving Longmen Grottoes, go back to the hotel to rest, then walk to Dahe Hui for dining and entertainment. It is a commercial complex blending ancient and modern styles, fun and photogenic, with a fourth-floor Luoyang intangible cultural heritage food street.
Must-visit photo spots:
1. Guiyan Chinese Living Aesthetics Museum (outdoor first floor)
2. Huahua World Decoration (outdoor first floor, in front of Guiyan entrance)
3. Tang Dynasty Doll Decoration (fourth-floor terrace)
4. Artistic sculptures (found everywhere)
Performance "Xun Ji Luo Shen Fu"
Located on the first floor of Dahe Hui. Buy tickets in advance, and queue up after eating and shopping around 7 p.m. Ticket price: 218 yuan; students 99 yuan (bring your student ID). Entry starts at 19:30, performance officially begins at 19:58. Duration: about 70 minutes.
The entire performance has no seats; it is a promenade-style show. It is recommended to carry as little as possible. The whole show is truly shocking and moving, super immersive! No spoilers, strongly recommend you come and watch!
1. Free, but reservation needed in advance:
Reserve tickets on the Luoyang Museum official account (WeChat). Tickets for the day after tomorrow open at 7:00 every morning. If you can't get one, you can also buy a ticket for the "Museum of the Son of Heaven's Six-Horse Chariot" (30 yuan) and enter Luoyang Museum without reservation.
2. Opening hours: 9:00–17:00, last entry at 16:30, closed on Mondays. Suggested visit time: 3 hours. Free guided tours every hour on the hour.
3. Must-see exhibits: Smile of the Northern Wei (second-floor special exhibition hall), Eastern Han Stone Bixie (first-floor stone carving hall), Gold-threaded Nanmu Pagoda (second-floor palace hall), Cao Wei White Jade Cup (second-floor treasure hall), Tang tri-color glazed black-glazed horse (second-floor treasure hall).
4. Take Metro Line 2 to Wenbo Park Station, exit A, then walk about 5 minutes.
Lijing Gate - Luoyi Ancient City - Cross Street
These three places are very close; you can walk. Here you truly see the embodiment of Luoyang's profound history. You can get a full Tang Dynasty costume and makeup, explore immersively, and take a set of stunning Hanfu photos.
⭐️Hotel Recommendation⭐️
If you travel by high-speed rail, I highly recommend staying near the station to avoid wasting time picking up and dropping off luggage.
This time I stayed at the "Hua Mao Chun Song" hotel.
Distance from high-speed rail station: about 15 minutes on foot, about 5 minutes by taxi.
Environment: The decoration is full of oriental aesthetic colors. There is a large shared space on the first floor, and it has a western restaurant, tea room, gym, etc.
Room: I stayed in a Tianliang King room, which was very spacious with a comfortable bed and a bathtub.
Service: Every staff member was especially warm and friendly; I felt at home here.
Breakfast: Buffet with many choices, both Chinese and Western, and the cake was delicious!
⭐️Food Recommendations⭐️
There is so much food in Luoyang, you can't try it all. I think the following are must-eats:
1. Luoyang Water Banquet
I have to say, there are so many places to eat and visit in Luoyang; two days are far from enough. If you have more time, you can also check out White Horse Temple (a bit far from the city center) and the Sui and Tang Luoyang City Site Park (especially beautiful at night).
Wishing you all a wonderful encounter with the glory of the Tang Dynasty in the divine capital Luoyang.
