Five-Day Macau Trip: Must-Visit Classic Spots Await You!

Where did you all go for the May Day holiday this year? Let me start with my vacation! My friend and I decided on a five-day trip to Macau, so we read a lot of travel guides about Macau and learned a ton. After comparing various hotels in Macau, we found that the ones under Sands China—The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Conrad Macao, Sheraton Macao Hotel, and The St. Regis Macao—all had great reviews. In the end, my friend and I chose The Venetian Macao, a hotel frequently visited by influencers!

The weather in Macau was especially nice those days. With blue skies, white clouds, and a cool summer breeze, even just walking down the street was a pleasure. What's more, The Venetian Macao is located in a bustling area, and the hotel building alone is a feast for the eyes. Viewed from a distance, the entire Venetian Macao looks like a castle from a fairy tale.

When you admire the carvings up close, the European classical style instantly captivates you.

The lobby is even more breathtaking—golden and opulent, exuding luxury and wealth. The various murals and reliefs on the walls make you feel like you're in medieval Europe. You can experience exotic charm without leaving the country—it's amazing!

The Venetian Macao has 3,000 luxurious suites, offering different room types for various travelers. On the 5th floor, there are multiple swimming pools, hydromassage baths, and a gym. In short, it has everything you could imagine! Okay, let me show you the luxurious Bella Suite we stayed in this time!

Two single beds side by side, clean and tidy. The oval-shaped orange throw pillows are quite creative, and there's an art painting on the wall, making the bedroom look less monotonous and more refined in life.

I absolutely love the bathroom design—the mirror frame is vintage style, and the lighting is classic. After a tiring day, returning to the hotel for a bath in such an environment is pure enjoyment.

We checked the official website and saw that the Sands Shopping City had a promotion—many big brands were 90% off! Although we were staying at The Venetian, we decided to go shopping at the Shoppes at Cotai Central first. Why? Because all these shopping malls are connected; the Shoppes at Venetian was too crowded, so we decided to complete our must-buy list first and then join the crowds later.

Compared to the Shoppes at Venetian, the Shoppes at Cotai Central was indeed much less crowded. Those who prefer a quieter shopping experience can come here, and there are also plenty of high-end brand stores. Brands like Zara, commonly found in mainland China, are also here. What's different about this Zara store compared to those in mainland China? Let's go in and take a look.

The store layout is clear and spacious. As for clothing styles, it seems there are more options than in mainland stores. Since it was a holiday, there were also promotional offers, so the prices were quite attractive. These transparent dad sneakers are perfect for summer—they're very lightweight on the feet, unlike other bulky dad shoes.

To my surprise, there was also a Chow Tai Fook at the Shoppes at Cotai Central, with all sorts of styles and collaborations—truly comprehensive. You can browse here to your heart's content without running around to find new items!

Most prices are displayed in the windows, so you can go straight to what you want based on your needs. Their collaborations usually include earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings—just pick what you want!

This British M&S is on the second floor of the Shoppes at Cotai Central; it's a large department store. It sells food, alcohol, cigarettes, and clothing. I had previously bought underwear at M&S in Shanghai, and the quality was good. But after seeing the clothing prices at this M&S, I regretted it. Everything, whether food or clothing, is super affordable. My friend and I decided to stock up and bring back a lot—it would be a waste not to!

Many snacks are imported from the UK—cookies, chips, chocolate, etc. If you love snacks, don't miss out! Although junk food isn't great to eat often, it's okay to indulge occasionally, right?

While strolling through the Shoppes at Cotai Central, I unexpectedly came across this The Cheesecake Factory. If you're a cheese lover like me, don't miss it—there are definitely plenty of surprises inside. The restaurant's dining area is well-divided, and the ambiance is very nice.

All kinds of cheesecakes are mouthwatering. And it's not just cakes; they also serve Western food, steaks, pasta, and salads. These three items alone are enough for a meal because the portions are incredibly generous!

Ending with a slice of cheesecake as dessert is simply perfect!

Actually, if you're on a one-day trip to Macau, staying at The Venetian and visiting its Shoppes at Venetian is enough to keep you entertained for a whole day. The sky here is the most beautiful sky I've ever seen. If you don't believe me, just look at the picture.

The buildings on both sides are full of Italian charm, and riding a gondola gives you a unique experience.

There is also an M&S at the Shoppes at Venetian, but we didn't go in. Our next target was The Body Shop, located at Shop 833b, 3/F, The Grand Canal Shoppes.

You can smell the fragrance as soon as you enter the store. I've always loved the scents of their shower gel and shampoo. The Body Shop's products are quite natural and gentle on the skin; unfortunately, there are no exclusive stores in mainland China yet. If you're visiting Macau, make sure to check it out.

During the May Day holiday, the store's promotional prices were pleasantly surprising. I highly recommend their ginger shampoo, which is suitable for those with oily scalps and fine hair. Taking advantage of the promotion, it's definitely a steal!

For those with a sweet tooth, there's also a Lady M waiting for you here. In Macau, you don't have to worry about not satisfying your cravings!

The outdoor seating area is fantastic!

There are plenty of free attractions near the Sands Resorts, and some are within walking distance. For example, the Casa Garden Museum is not only close to Rua do Cunha but also has a unique architectural style. The mint-green walls perfectly match the summer vibe, making it a great spot for photos.

The Ruins of St. Paul's and the Monte Fort are also worth visiting. The Ruins of St. Paul's is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Macau and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, highlighting its historical value.

The Ruins of St. Paul's is indeed a famous spot, so it was very crowded, but I still found a nice place!

We can't just look at attractions and go hungry! The food guide I prepared in advance came in handy, and I successfully checked out Café Wing Kee!

If you love architecture and history, you must visit the Fisherman's Wharf. It's filled with Romanesque buildings, highly distinctive. Most importantly, it's an open scenic area with no admission fee. There are also shopping malls and restaurants nearby, so you can rest when you're tired!

The ruins give a sense of the passage of time and make you curious about what happened here. This is the charm of architecture—it embodies ancient legends and allows us to reflect on history through these structures.

During these days in Macau, I visited so many places that what I'm sharing here is just the tip of the iceberg. Macau is a fascinating city, and I'll leave the fun of exploring it to you. Whether it's a shopping paradise or an entertainment heaven, splurging in Macau is definitely a joy. Now, let me share my travel reflections! This trip to Macau taught me more about how to live and how to enhance happiness. For example, when shopping, don't give up on something you want just because of the price. As the saying goes, don't wait until middle age to buy the things you wanted at eighteen. We should live in the present and enjoy the moment. Truly, travel brings profound meaning. I hope you too can resolve life's puzzles and worries through your journeys and move toward a brighter future together!
