Unlocking New Ways to Shop in Macau with Gal Pals, Successfully Mastering the Art of Shopping
It's often said that Macau is a vacation paradise and shopping heaven. Recently, I finished a phase of work, so I invited my gal pals to go shopping in Macau, take a break for ourselves, and also make up for the time I neglected my sisters while being too busy with projects.
When traveling, of course you need to find a comfortable hotel to rest well and have energy. I have to say there are many hotels in Macau; just under Sands China alone there are The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Conrad Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao, The St. Regis Macao, etc. Each hotel has a different style, but all are truly worth staying at. Since I had seen some hotel guides online earlier, and considering we didn't want to waste time running around, we wanted a one-stop experience for accommodation and shopping. So my sister and I finally chose to stay at The Venetian Macao.
If you book a hotel in advance on the official website, there are many discounts. For example, you can enjoy free Wi-Fi and late checkout, and you can pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, and UnionPay. Most importantly, if you book 2 days or more in advance, you get up to 20% off on accommodation, and if you stay two consecutive nights, 25% off, three consecutive nights, 35% off. This discount is no small thing... For more details, you can check the hotel's official website; there are deals waiting for you to discover.
The hotel lobby can only be described as luxurious and magnificent. The very eye-catching armillary sphere in the center of the lobby is gleaming with gold, and it has lifelike carvings of figures and mythical beasts. The dome design, along with the lighting and color scheme, fills the entire lobby with fashionable elements. What I like most is the long arched corridor; the oil paintings on it add a lot of artistic atmosphere to the whole hotel, making it feel like walking into an art museum.
When checking in, the hotel staff actively helped us with our luggage. Both their attitude and service were excellent. With the staff's help, we quickly found our room. The moment I opened the door, I fell in love with its design style. The entire room uses blue and white as decoration, simple with a touch of elegance; the sunken living room design makes the room feel even more spacious. In short, the whole room exudes a refined and romantic Italian style that makes you indulge in it.
The bathroom is very large, with a luxurious marble bathroom and an oversized bathtub—really fantastic. All facilities in the bathroom are complete: bathrobes neatly hung in the closet, toiletries neatly arranged on the vanity shelf. If you need any daily necessities, you can call the front desk; the hotel service is definitely thoughtful enough.
In addition, the hotel's internal facilities are also very complete, including a golf course, children's play area, fitness center, swimming pool, etc. I have to say, these places all highlight the hotel's luxury.
After settling into the hotel, it was time to attend to the business of shopping. The Grand Canal Shoppes is on the third floor of The Venetian Macao, so you can go shopping without even stepping outside. The shopping center's design concept is inspired by the charming scenery of Venice, the water city of Europe. The shopping center has a blue artificial sky, winding canals, European-style arched bridges, and cobblestone streets everywhere; here you can feel the exotic atmosphere. I think it's precisely because of this beautiful scenery and luxurious architecture that it has become a filming location for many TV shows, movies, and variety programs.
Coming to The Venetian Macao without taking a gondola ride on the canal would be a pity. Taking a ride on a distinctive Venetian gondola, accompanied by the beautiful and melodious songs of the gondolier, romantic and slowly sailing on the canal, will make this trip even more perfect. The gondolier guys are really handsome.
Here, besides enjoying the beautiful scenery, you can also shop to your heart's content. With hundreds of brand stores, you can't finish visiting them all in one day.
Atrium is a must-visit store at the Grand Canal Shoppes. Its store is large, and the interior decoration is relatively unified, going for a simple and fashionable style. The store is very clean, and the goods are neatly arranged. I found that its cosmetics brands are quite comprehensive, ranging from mid-range to high-end, so everyone can choose according to their budget. Although it is self-service, if you have a problem, the salesgirls will enthusiastically answer when you ask them.
Recently, Atrium has many promotions: select beauty brands, spirits, and snacks at regular price—buy 2 get 1 free; regular-priced sunglasses get 50% off the second pair. These specified products are limited in quantity, while stocks last.
Victoria's Secret is right next to the square, very easy to find. The salesgirls in the store provide great service, enthusiastically helping with measurements, finding sizes, and recommending suitable lingerie. The store has a complete range of products, and the latest season's items can also be found here.
This store sells not only lingerie but also fragrant body lotions, shower gels, etc., for your choice~
There is a current promotion: buy 1 get 1 free on selected bras; 25% off the entire store on weekends, including discounted items. Payment methods are also convenient, supporting Alipay and WeChat Pay.
Sneakers are a necessity because they are the most versatile and comfortable shoes. When it comes to sports fashion, NIKE is the first thing that comes to mind. That eye-catching swoosh instantly associates it with sports competition. This Nike store at the Grand Canal Shoppes is very large, with two floors, each very spacious. The functional areas are clearly divided, making it easy to find what you want. Nike styles that are not available in mainland China can be bought here.
The store also has a wide variety of sportswear, including many celebrity looks. Recently, while watching a talent show, I found that a white NIKE T-shirt looked incredibly good on them. As a fairy myself, I must have one too!
Adidas is also near Nike. The store decoration style is relatively simple, but the big discount sign at the door reminds me that the deals here are not simple. Men's, women's, and children's styles are all complete, and sports shoes, casual shoes, and slippers are all available.
I bought shoes from them before; they are comfortable and not tight on the feet. During selection, because I liked many styles, I needed the sales guys to help find the corresponding shoe sizes. They were very patient, not annoyed by trying on many shoes, and remained enthusiastic throughout the service. One of the guys is quite handsome~
This trip to Macau, whether it was the hotel accommodation or the shopping experience, left me with a great impression. And the Grand Canal Shoppes has been rated as my number one shopping center, not only for its good scenery and service, but also for its many stores and discounts. If you are tempted, come and check it out, girls.
