🎬 'CreativeSpot' Cultural & Creative Lifestyle Concept Store

Not far from the Ruins of St. Paul's, on Shuncheng Street — an ordinary, quiet street — hides a cultural and creative lifestyle concept store beloved by locals: CreativeSpot. 🙋 The owner, James, influenced by his designer mother from childhood, returned to Macao after studying in the UK in 2017 and opened this two-story shop selling creative goods. 🎨 Unlike other stores that only sell Macao souvenirs, CreativeSpot offers items ranging from home accessories, stationery, ornaments, clothing, hats, bags, and special out-of-print collectibles from around the world, plus practical items full of local design elements. The owner also periodically releases his own designs, often in a humorous and witty style. 🏵 This little shop has become a "dream house" for Macao locals: it’s their first choice for gifts for friends and quirky home decorations. They even share fresh life ideas with the owner, who searches and brings back products inspired by those chats. 🍭 To the left of the entrance stands a giant painted horse, greeting visitors like a carousel horse, hoping everyone will bring a childlike heart to appreciate the sparkling creations at CreativeSpot. 🍬 How do city dwellers de-stress? Terracotta warriors you could never touch, David statues you’d handle with care — now turned into squeezable, washable, super-cute heads you can toss and vent with at will~~ 🆚 A balance scale marked with “life” and “work” words is actually an ashtray set. As smokers puff and ash away, they realize the meaning of balancing work and life and how to act on it. 👗 The second floor has clothing, bags, and vintage knick-knacks, a great spot for photo ops.

✍️ 'China National Products Company' – a special little shop

In 1952, after visiting the South China Material Exchange Conference in Guangzhou, Macao’s business community recognized the motherland’s abundant resources, rapid industrial and agricultural development, and high-quality yet affordable goods. Returning to Macao, they set up the China Native Products Company wholesale and retail outlet, dealing exclusively in Chinese products. In 1970, the retail outlet was renamed China National Products Company, specializing in various processed goods from China, such as handicrafts, clothing, daily necessities, textiles, famous liquors, and canned foods. To this day, the store still stands on Rua de Cinco de Outubro. 👍 Inside, they showcase and promote many Macao cultural and creative items, ethnic minority products, and Taiwanese indigenous products. You can also learn about specialties from Portuguese-speaking countries through the products displayed at the Food Products Exhibition Centre. 🎀 The huge graffiti next to the storefront that reads "Love the Motherland, Use National Products" is quite eye-catching!

🗺 Guanqian Zheng Jie: Macao’s emerging cultural & creative district

The history of Guanqian Zheng Jie (Front of the Customs Street) dates back to the Kangxi era, when the customs office "Guanbu Xingtai" was located nearby, hence the name "Guanqian". In recent years, the government laid new wavy traditional Portuguese cobblestone paths, 🖼 and the neighborhood is dotted with artistic graffiti walls. Even the tiny electrical boxes have been decorated with different fun and colorful designs. The Portuguese-themed wall with a Portuguese rooster is a must-snap spot! ☕️ Inside the street, a building now called "Wenyimen" (Art & Culture Gateway) was originally a tin factory named "Rongji" with 60 years of history. In 2017, local Macao artists transformed it into a new cultural space. The four-story building houses a café, a cultural and creative variety store, and studios for local design brands. The fourth-floor rooftop preserves the old "Rongji" tin factory signboard – art lovers, mark this nostalgic photo point!

🗺 Coca-Cola Collectibles Museum (themed museum)

On Guanqian Zheng Jie, the Macao Coca-Cola Collectibles Museum is the only Coca-Cola-themed museum in Hong Kong and Macao. Although small, it’s officially approved by the Coca-Cola Company. 👍 The owner started collecting Coca-Cola items in 1994 and is recognized by the Coca-Cola Company as the president of the Macao chapter of the Coca-Cola Collectors Club – a title obtained through recommendations from chapter presidents across Asia, following a strict and fair process that ensures the brand’s unity and rigor. In 2018, the president applied to Coca-Cola and received permission to open this themed museum in Macao, which still operates as a non-profit. 💯 Inside this tiny museum, most exhibits are Coca-Cola treasures from all over the world. Some items are available for sale because the collection holds duplicates, and they are very popular with tourists and Coke fans.

Museum highlights:

🤙 Most prized exhibit: the approximately 1.7-meter Macao City Bottle, once displayed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This giant Coke bottle was designed by the owner, combining Macao’s city flower, the lotus, with architectural elements, in a unique and harmonious blend of deep and light greens with lotus pink – extremely eye-catching.

🤙 Most popular with locals: Lego sets, car models

🤙 Most popular with tourists: fridge magnets, Cokes of different origins and flavors, car models, Macao-themed products (like the City Bottle), Lego sets

🤙 Continuously appreciating collectibles: various out-of-print Coke bottles (glass and aluminum cans), limited-edition streetwear collaboration can sets, Porsche x Coca-Cola car model (limited to 3,000 units worldwide)

Museum must-sees:

📌 A wall made of multiple Coke bottles

📌 Product sets highlighting the brand’s passion, youth, and happiness

🌟 Sidagou Graffiti Street: unlimited creativity and vibrancy

Who would have thought such an artistic street graffiti village is hidden in this unassuming old quarter of Macao! 🇲🇴 The area around the Largo da Companhia de Jesus (commonly known as Sidagou) on the Macau Peninsula is the old district, right next to the Inner Harbour Ferry Terminal. The buildings are old and full of life. Yet this old spot is filled with stunning graffiti art at every turn, endlessly fascinating! 📌 Jubao Street, Che Ma Street, Anfong Sai Street, the side of Yingjing Hotel, and the side of Hotel Beverly Plaza (Macao Yi She Hotel) are covered with extraordinary works large and small. These include a three-eyed girl in a rabbit headdress named Mady by a famous Thai graffiti artist, serene girls by a Korean graffiti artist, a smiling girl by a Taiwanese graffiti artist, and a Portuguese artist known for his deconstructive aesthetics, whose personage sculptures carved into the cracks and pits of the original building walls are truly striking. 🎀 The artists express strong personal intentions through their graffiti, yet these works merge with the historical atmosphere of the old district and coexist with the local scenes of life, leaving an even deeper impression.

🌟 Love Lane No. 7 Guesthouse – landmark spot & trendy guesthouse

🌟 Number of rooms: 7 💰 Price from ¥250

💖 Staying on Macao’s Love Lane – romantic enough?

💛 The name Love Lane comes from an extension of the word “passion” in its Portuguese name. The Portuguese originally intended to express believers’ devout love for God. But thanks to a beautiful mistranslation, the poetic street name “Love Lane” was born.

🧡 The lane is only 50 meters long with an 80-year history. Its European-style cobblestone path, street lamps, brightly colored Continental facades, and flower beds blooming with blossoms make it a favorite spot for couples, and many TV dramas and movies have filmed here.

💚 The building right in the middle, painted in pink, grass green, and white in European style, has been converted into Love Lane No. 7 Guesthouse. On a sunny autumn day, Huahua stayed in this European fairy-tale boutique.

💜 The guesthouse has preserved the original Portuguese traditional appearance as much as possible. In addition, the owner has carefully chosen furniture and decorations with classical Chinese elements, blending East and West to create another level of elegance.

Unique photo spot with the Ruins of St. Paul’s: layers of distance and closeness, people and history framed together

💡 Portuguese charm: large old-building relief stone wall, light-filled courtyard with Portuguese flair

💡 Guest rooms feature pressed-flower Manchurian windows and vintage European furnishings

🌿 Actually, an annual leave trip is just a little label. With a sense of daydream, tag yourself and set off, letting yourself comfortably talk to yourself in your travel time. Stroll through the art and tranquility of another city, feel its pulse and vitality, and listen carefully to the gentle words Macao whispers to you.
