A Macau Trip You Can't Stop Exploring – Absolutely Worth It!

My understanding of a happy life is to journey on the road and let it resonate in the heart. I love freedom and am passionate about travel. But after the pandemic, work kept me constantly stressed with projects non-stop, making me almost forget when I last went on a proper shopping trip. Finally the project ended, I wrapped up my tasks and could take a breather. With the pandemic easing, I could travel and shop again. I saw online that Macau had reopened, no quarantine needed, and reviews were great—many places worth visiting, the city incredibly beautiful. Just hearing about it made my heart race. So I got my visa, did a nucleic acid test, and happily set off!

Stepping out of the airport, I took a deep breath, feeling the air filled with freedom and freshness. Before I could properly sightsee, I spotted the free hotel shuttle bus. Why wait? I grabbed my suitcase and hopped on. After all, I'd heard Macau taxis are shockingly expensive—better save that money for skincare products, totally worth it! The bus was comfortable, and we arrived in just ten minutes or so.

Before departure, I researched hotel recommendations online. Hotels under Sands Macao like The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Conrad Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao, and The St. Regis Macao all had great reviews. Never having been to Italy, I've always had a soft spot for the water city of Venice. So this time, I specially chose the famous The Venetian Macao. Here, I felt as if I were in Venice itself—equally splendid, with the same canals and streetscapes. I experienced those signature Venetian arched bridges, canals, and cobblestone lanes. It's not just a hotel; it's a tourism attraction everyone dreams of visiting.

As a landmark internet-famous hotel in Macau, The Venetian is nothing short of lavish! The hotel resembles a massive European palace, with opulent grandeur that stuns you.

True to its name, The Venetian Macao is modeled after Venice, Italy. Though inspired by its Las Vegas counterpart, the Macau version surpasses it in scale.

Upon entering, you feel the ultimate luxury inside—golden splendor everywhere, exquisite frescoes overhead. The golden hue dominates the lobby, with a majestic statue in the center, making you feel you've stepped into an elegant palace and spontaneously sense the noble life.

Booking a room on The Venetian Macao's official website is also a good idea, as they offer unexpected accommodation deals and packages. For instance, right now, staying two consecutive nights gets you a 30% discount—super cost-effective!

Walking down the golden corridor, I finally reached my room. Opening the door, my suitcase was already inside—pretty good service. I booked a luxury king room, predominantly white with subtle yellow accents on the sofa and murals, giving the whole room a touch of small-town Venice. Soft and elegant, it felt warm and romantic. At night, turning on the lights and sitting on the sofa, looking out at the beautiful night view was a delight. The room was spotlessly clean, complete with a dining table, bedside tables, and lamps—very homey. It seemed I made the right choice.

The daylight view is even better—take a look~

The bathroom's marble countertop, paired with wall sconces and a stylish mirror, gives the whole space a vintage charm. The oversized bathtub and shower facilities are so important for a bath lover like me. I must highlight the toiletries—not only do they smell great, but they work wonderfully, leaving a nice fragrance on the body, seemingly a French brand. Water temperature was just right, and the shower had plenty of pressure. A refreshing rinse followed by a milk bath was pure bliss.

Now, the highlight of the trip: shopping spree! Macau has so many shopping centers, and you can find almost anything you want. Right next to my hotel, The Venetian Macao, there are four major shopping destinations: The Grand Canal Shoppes, The Parisian Macao Shoppes, Four Seasons Shoppes, and Sands Shoppes. Let's start with The Parisian and Sands Shoppes—each has over a hundred stores, covering all kinds of brands. Four Seasons Shoppes houses all the high-end luxury brands, plus a multi-brand boutique spanning over 2,000 square meters, which is said to be frequented by celebrities! Hermès, Armani, Burberry—there's nothing you can't think of that the mall doesn't have, and you might even snag a 'cheap' designer piece!

Lastly, I must emphasize The Grand Canal Shoppes. Inside, there are three indoor canals—the Grand Canal, San Luca Canal, and Marco Polo Canal—each separate, with many gondolas shuttling back and forth. Guests can pay for a gondola ride. The design concept is inspired by the enchanting scenery of Venice's waterways, surrounded by Venetian-style architecture and arched bridges, making you feel as if you're in romantic Venice, soaking up exotic vibes.

The Grand Canal Shoppes has over 300 stores, plus a romantic artificial sky canopy. Anytime you look up, it's blue sky and white clouds. The clock in the piazza stays forever at 5:30, locking in the beauty of dusk!

I highly recommend their body lotion; unlike Lush's, it has more natural scents. Of course, I love their conditioner and shampoo even more—absolute favorites. Every city's Aesop is well worth visiting; the store displays are so stylish, perfect for photos, blending retro and modern vibes. The Macau branch is no exception. The staff attitude is fantastic—they'll let you try new products, and even if you don't buy, they give you samples. That service is simply too good. The exfoliating hand wash is something I've used since graduation; it's affordable, and long-term use leaves your hands silky. The geranium body scrub and citrus body lotion are must-haves too. The prices were already not high, and with the mall's 10% discount plus exchange rate, a pile cost me only one to two thousand yuan—such a bargain, unbeatable!

The bottle design exudes a vintage feel, both understated and special!

I took all these home—simply could not resist!

A Spanish fast-fashion brand, kind of Zara's sister brand, but I feel their clothes are more fashionable. I usually love their pieces, and during sale season, prices are almost like free. Right now in Macau, it's blatant sale season, starting from 49, clothes are incredibly cheap. A new linen trench coat was only 300—beyond my imagination. Most importantly, the size range is very complete, which is rare. All my favorite styles had my size. I bought several outfits for under 5,000 yuan—felt like a steal. The store has tons of clothes, including off-season discounts; down jackets are under 1,000, excellent quality, strongly recommend grabbing them!

Pieces at 79 and 99 abound, don't doubt your eyes!

A low-key leather goods brand hardly known to many, but it actually has 168 years of history. The leather and craftsmanship are top-tier; every bag is said to be made in the Moynat atelier in central Paris, showing great dedication. Their classic styles are considered by many women to rival Hermès, and I'm absolutely in love! Especially for career women, I increasingly feel that classic and understated never goes out of style. The store has many new arrivals with not many discounts, but you can enjoy the mall's 10% off; with the exchange rate, it's normal to save about 500 yuan per bag. The sales staff were very pleasant, and the shopping experience was decent.

The store display is beautiful, and each bag seems to glow, shining brightly!

I ended up buying a few, and even picked one up for my sister—all very stylish bags!

Their shower gel, bubble bars, and soap are highly recommended. Not only are the scents natural, but after washing, your skin feels so smooth and soft. Using them consistently for two to three months, your skin really transforms. Their bath bombs are a must-have for bath time, with all kinds of shapes. After using one, you'll see starry skies and colorful swirls in your bath—so pretty. Previously, I used to buy from online shops or personal shoppers, but I spotted the Lush store from afar in The Grand Canal Shoppes. So many people, and the selection was complete, with new bath bomb styles available. Each person could even get a free soap and sample—what a deal! With a purchase comes gifts, and the gifts are new products. Six bubble bars after discount were under 600, much cheaper than buying through personal shoppers!

Try the seaweed mask, it has the scent of the sea~

Check out the sea and rainbow patterns—aren't they lovely?

A fiery northern restaurant where the unique heat of northerners is fully expressed. The scene of red lanterns hanging high is well recreated here. The cuisine is mainly northern, with bold and spicy flavors—perfect for someone like me who can't do without spice. The restaurant's decor suits my taste perfectly, as I absolutely adore the color red. Eating here feels fantastic. But if you plan to dine, make a reservation two hours in advance, or you might end up sitting at the door watching others heartily eat meat and drink wine—that'd be a sorry sight. Let me recommend a few dishes that get lots of praise!

Garlic pork slices on a rack—not greasy at all, and you can mix it with rice. Absolutely a gem among gems, it fully lived up to my expectations. As a garlic lover, I even ate an extra two bites!

Unbeatably smooth and tender pickled fish—the pickled veggies taste just like the handmade ones from my hometown, the fish slices silky and delicate!

Crab roe soup dumplings, the broth and meat equally delicious, I wanted to pack some to go!

Northeastern mixed salad, proving what sweet and sour really means, this is so me—so appetizing!

Candied banana fritters, sweet but not cloying, love it~

I'll just show the rest in pictures!

The bustling beauty of Macau, the exotic charm of The Venetian, and the delicious cuisine all made me feel how wonderful life is. This trip to Macau is truly memorable! If I get the chance next time, when revisiting Macau, I'll definitely experience the historic沧桑 of the Ruins of St. Paul's again, see the advanced Macau Science Center, and fully appreciate Macau's unique flavor at the intersection of knowledge and scenery!
