I had long planned to travel, but because of the pandemic, it was never confirmed. My husband and I got married in January 2020. We had originally chosen our honeymoon destination, but unfortunately, we had to put the plan on hold. Recently, we've had some free time, and the pandemic isn't as severe, so we decided to bring both sets of parents along for a trip. This way, we could have our honeymoon and also take our parents out to relax. Macau isn't far from us, and the journey is quite convenient. After discussing it, we booked the hotel, packed our bags, and headed to Macau! Traveling with both sets of parents meant we were a large group, but there was no need to worry too much. The journey was filled with laughter and chatter, and we arrived in Macau without a hint of boredom. Standing on Macau's soil, the feeling was quite different. Though the air is just as fresh, Macau has noticeably more Western-style architecture, fully showcasing the city's inclusiveness and exotic charm. We originally planned to take a taxi to the hotel, but a taxi couldn't fit all of us, and we would have had to split up. Although the distance wasn't far, for convenience and to stick together, we opted for the free hotel shuttle bus. Unexpectedly, the shuttle was fast, convenient, and very comfortable. Before the trip, we specifically chose the distinctive The Parisian Macao. From online descriptions, it sounded like The Parisian Macao truly captures the ambiance of Paris, with many Eiffel Tower replicas around the hotel, giving a feeling of traveling to Paris. Taking a stroll around The Parisian Macao confirmed that. There were indeed quite a few tower replicas, and they blended beautifully with the surrounding natural scenery. Both sets of parents happily snapped tourist photos. It had both exotic charm and Chinese characteristics. The exterior design of The Parisian Macao is really impressive, and the hotel's sign, with its golden lettering, looked especially vivid under the sunlight. After a short walk, we felt a bit tired. Discussing with my husband, we decided to check in first. Stepping into the hotel lobby felt completely different from the outside. Inside, there were also many small Eiffel Tower replicas, perfectly creating a Parisian urban atmosphere. The check-in process was quick. My husband was still energetic, so we let the parents go to their rooms to rest while we lingered in the lobby a little longer. Both the chandeliers and murals were impressive, but the interior style of The Parisian Macao was more unique—somewhat exotic, but presenting a predominantly Western ambiance. My husband and I noticed many Western sculptures in the lobby. Though we aren't art majors, we could only say they looked very distinctive; it's hard to describe exactly what made them so appealing. Walking further, the style suddenly shifted to a richly colorful lobby, like scenes changing in a movie. Finally, after wandering enough, we decided to meet our suite! We had booked the Eiffel Tower Suite at The Parisian Macao. By booking in advance on the official website, we got a 20% discount, so we reserved three rooms. The suite was quite spacious. Opening the door, we were greeted by a grand retro color scheme, perfectly matching the celebratory mood of our honeymoon, and suddenly a sweet feeling washed over me. The bed was large enough; testing it out, it felt quite soft. There were many bedside lamps, and when turned on, they gave off a gentle, non-glaring light. Drawing the curtains, we could take in the scenery around The Parisian Macao. Sitting in a chair and quietly admiring the view was a unique pleasure. The bathroom and bedroom had quite different designs. The bathroom followed a simple yet stylish approach, with prominent marble patterns. Though not large, it looked clean and tidy at first glance, with toiletries neatly arranged. There were both a shower and a bathtub, though the bathtub wasn't very big. It suited me fine, but my husband, who is a bit heavier, probably wouldn't fit as comfortably. The bathrobe was made of soft material, feeling quite different from the ones in mainland hotels. Here, it was very form-fitting and comfortable even to sleep in at night. The toiletries were also pretty good, including a shower cap and comb. The toiletries seemed to be a French brand; after using them, I smelled nice and really liked them. Shopping is an essential activity when in Macau. Knowing that our parents enjoy taking photos and sightseeing, while they rested at the hotel, I dragged my husband out for some shopping. Luckily, our hotel, The Parisian Macao, has three large shopping malls within walking distance, so we didn't need to spend time traveling. The Grand Canal Shoppes are breathtakingly beautiful; the mesmerizing artificial sky creates a romantic ambiance at all times. With over 300 shops lining the canal, it's a feast for the eyes. The Sands Shoppes and Parisian Shopping Centre each have over 100 shops, including many international luxury brands. To truly explore everything would take a day or two. However, this time our schedule was tight, and it's a pity we couldn't visit The Londoner Macao. I've heard it's a luxurious integrated resort with shopping and entertainment, well worth a visit. Next time we're free, we must check it out. My husband loves this brand's leather goods. There are very few stores in mainland China, so he always had to use a purchasing agent. The agents weren't much cheaper, and it was easy to end up with fakes. Seeing the brand in Macau, he happily dragged me into the store. They had many new arrivals. Their leather products are not only high-quality but also beautifully combine nude tones and pattern designs. It's a very famous Italian brand, and they offer maintenance services. Although there weren't huge discounts, using Alipay payment plus the shopping mall's 10% discount made my husband very happy. He made me try on several pairs of shoes and also bought a belt, saying he won't buy more later and would stock up this time. I also bought leather goods from this brand for both sets of parents. They're easy to match with outfits and perfect for various occasions—there's no reason to refuse! Our first token of love was a watch from this brand, one for each of us. Although it's not at the pinnacle of luxury, the design is truly fashionable without being tacky, and it's easy to pair with outfits, winning my heart more than many higher-end brands. Later, due to my forgetfulness, I rarely wore it. Now, seeing the brand in Macau, my husband insisted on buying me another one. We visited the store, which was quite large with many new models. Every piece looked beautiful. The sales assistants had great service attitudes. I picked several watches I liked, and they meticulously helped me try them on, even suggesting what outfits to pair them with. An hour flew by quickly. Finally, I chose a small watch I loved, and they mentioned that maintenance could be done in mainland China—excellent service indeed. By the way, Alipay is widely accepted in the malls now. If you pay with Alipay, you can also use discounts and save quite a bit of money. Few can resist Jo Malone London fragrances! I not only use them myself but also got my husband to use them, and I've even been using their shampoos and shower gels. Jo Malone London taught me that you can mix different scents together. Whether it's rose or lavender, just a light spritz fills the air with a delightful fragrance. I usually buy online, but I felt like I took over the Jo Malone London store in Macau—I went crazy sampling and wanted to buy everything back home. The best part was that they even had a 10% discount. Although the perfumes aren't very expensive, buying more makes it even more worthwhile. The store also gave out some samples, enough to bring back. I also bought different perfumes for my mom and mother-in-law; they all suited them perfectly. It's Jo Malone London that I adore—no reason needed for a shopping spree. If you have Alipay coupons, you can save even more. Shopping like this is pure joy! The walls of perfume cabinets looked like blooming flowers in every color. Don't say you don't love it—just looking at them made me so happy! A very famous Chinese restaurant in Macau with many dishes and reasonable prices. Because of the pandemic, it wasn't too crowded, but we still reserved a table in advance. The restaurant's exterior design is high-end, resembling a golden palace. Inside, the tableware also looked dazzling, as if dining in a palace. They offer hot pot and various Chinese and Western dishes. Wanting to try their cuisine, we skipped their famous seafood hot pot and chose some signature dishes. The food arrived quickly, and the service was excellent—no wonder so many online reviewers recommend it. The pickled cherry tomatoes were small, with a sour and sweet tomato flavor, very appetizing. The caviar three-color shrimp dumplings really deserve praise—beautifully presented, with thin skin and tender filling, perfect for popping in one bite. The honey pomelo crispy skin shredded chicken—this combination was a first for me. The pomelo juice was tangy and sweet, complementing the freshness of the chicken. Nice! The soup dumplings were uniquely designed and tasted great. Two soup dumplings were soaked in a broth of goji berries and mushrooms, with the flavors blending perfectly. The soup was light, feeling both soothing and warming for the stomach. Sipping it spoon by spoon was so comfortable! The black caviar golden thread phoenix-tail shrimp—the shrimp weren't large, but the meat was tender, coated with the aroma of black caviar, giving a unique texture. The red rice roll with crispy shrimp rice noodle roll—both contained shrimp, but the rice noodle roll flavor was more pronounced. The seafood fried rice was the best of the meal; I devoured two bowls without any need for excuses! We were completely satisfied with dining, entertainment, and more. I also bought bracelets for my mother-in-law and mom, so the whole family received gifts, and I brought some for my sister-in-law as well. The trip was incredibly fulfilling. Although I've visited big cities like Macau before, Macau surpassed our expectations—every aspect, from dining to shopping, offered unique experiences. The food at Palace Garden, the views of the Grand Canal, and the comfort of The Parisian Macao truly made us feel Macau's preciousness and its distinctive Western cultural atmosphere. Though this trip was a bit short, next time we must visit the Ruins of St. Paul's—can't let the beautiful sights go to waste! Travel Diary Index 1. Check-in at the dazzling The Parisian Macao 2.
