Check In at The Londoner Macau: Luxurious British-Style Experience
Due to the pandemic, 2020 was almost entirely a straight line between home and the office—I didn't travel at all. To start spring 2021 on a good note, a friend invited me to Macau. I hurriedly got my visa sorted and received my nucleic acid test report just one day before departure.
Here are some useful tips for traveling to Macau. First, be clear about the purpose of your trip—is it for relaxation or for thrills? If you're looking for a comfortable independent trip, definitely book your hotel in advance. To ensure the information is reliable, it's best to browse the hotel's official website. For example, Sands Macao's portfolio includes detailed introductions to The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Conrad Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao, and The St. Regis Macao.
Originally, I really wanted to stay at The Venetian, but my friend told me about a newly opened hotel—The Londoner Macao—and that David Beckham was involved in its design. As a fan of Beckham's good looks, how could I not be tempted?
The Londoner Macao's exterior is in a Gothic architectural style. Unfortunately, when we visited, the Big Ben replica at the hotel entrance wasn't fully completed yet—looks like we'll have to come back for a second visit. The Londoner officially opened in January this year, becoming yet another new landmark in Macau.
The hotel lobby is designed like a crystal palace, very grand. The entire hotel exudes luxurious British style, a real visual feast!
Our first meal in Macau was at Churchill's Table, which offers buffet breakfast, Mediterranean lunch and dinner, and traditional English afternoon tea—so much delicious food! The restaurant is divided into several areas, each with a different design. All in all, it's a very exquisite restaurant, perfect for taking photos.
Right upon entering, you can smell the aroma of pastries and bread, making your mouth water. Inside, many people were enjoying their exquisite afternoon tea. The distance between tables is just right, so you won't be disturbed by neighboring conversations, giving a wonderful experience. The bread and desserts are abundant in variety, and their presentation is meticulously done, very photogenic!
There are also live performers in the restaurant. Definitely don't be shy at this moment—boldly interact with the performers, and remember to have your friend take photos and videos; it will become a truly unforgettable travel memory.
A British-style dinner made my friend and me fall completely in love with this restaurant. Every dish we ordered combined substance and style. One of the signature dishes is the caramelized roast pork ribs—the meat was roasted to such tenderness, with a slightly crispy exterior. My friend and I just picked them up and gnawed on them, enjoying the bliss of eating meat with abandon.
The pizza and baked bone marrow were both delicious, though the bone marrow was a bit fatty. But my friend loved it and still cleaned her plate, ha ha ha.
The smoked Scottish salmon—when this dish was served, it felt like the dimly lit restaurant suddenly brightened up, such vibrant colors! Besides the fresh salmon, it also had asparagus and pomelo flesh as accompaniments, resulting in a refreshing taste.
The Londoner Hotel's main feature is its vintage British style. From check-in to reaching your room door, the entire journey feels like a trip through the Victorian era. Our luggage had already been delivered to the room by the hotel butler. If you have any other needs, simply call room service, and the butler will arrange everything for you.
We stayed in a Lewis Suite, a spacious 75 square meters. The moment we walked in, it felt so roomy. The room is fully equipped, with LCD TVs in both the bedroom and living room, making binge-watching a treat.
Every piece of furniture is of high quality, and the wall paintings, table decorations, and more create a strong artistic atmosphere. No need to worry about odors in a new hotel—there were none at all, and the room even provided an air purifier.
Even the toiletries are Penhaligon's, favored by the British royal family. The towel rack has a heating function, and even the toilet is smart—truly a luxurious experience.
Based on Sands Plaza, The Londoner Shopping Centre has brought in many new brands, and the interior design has shifted to a British fashion style, giving a refreshing feel. The shopping centre has many photo-worthy spots, like giant phone booths, teacup props, and wall murals. Not knowing how to pose, we had to rely on cheating. We found some cute and quirky poses online and just kept striking them, having more and more fun.
Congratulations! You've successfully unlocked the refreshingly romantic The Londoner Shopping Centre, filled with designer stores. Here, besides enjoying a comfortable shopping experience, you can also savor the pleasure of strolling through what feels like British streets. As my friend and I walked and chatted, it felt like time slowed down.
Sometimes too many choices make you forget what you really want—that's the paradox of shopping. To resist unnecessary temptations and spend wisely, I strongly suggest listing out what you need to buy, then choosing your favorite stores based on those items! For example, for men's clothing, you can go to Boy London; for gold jewelry, check out Lukfook Jewellery, which not only has in-store promotions but is also inside The Londoner Shopping Centre. After shopping, you can just head back to the hotel, wash up, and sleep—isn't that perfect?
Ladies who want to buy gold, listen up! There's a promotion at Lukfook Jewellery on the 1st floor of The Londoner Shopping Centre, with selected gold fixed-price jewelry up to 25% off. My friend stormed in there like she was going to buy the entire store, ha ha ha.
The Runaway Princess series braided bracelet that the staff recommended was absolutely gorgeous—such a stunning piece that you can buy without a second thought!
The other products aren't bad either—gold necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. Buying gold is a good investment now, don't say I didn't tell you.
The afternoon tea we missed at Churchill's Table, we fulfilled at Lady M. This is a cake brand from New York, and my friend had been craving their mille crêpes for ages. The shop is on the 2nd floor of The Londoner Shopping Centre, no need to queue—just go straight in and order.
I'd never seen so many cake flavors; I was momentarily at a loss. The shop assistant, seeing my dilemma, recommended two signature mille crêpes. Looking at the photo, I can still recall the aroma that filled the cake shop. If you're reading this late at night, I apologize: sorry for the food porn!
The restaurant is simple in style, with plenty of seats but not many customers, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Quietly enjoying an American-style afternoon tea with your girlfriends here, resting your feet, recharging, before heading to the next shopping battleground!
The Crystal Rose Mille Crêpe and rose tea make a perfect combo. The rich milky flavor pairs with the lightly fragrant rose tea; for friends who aren't into sweets, this helps cut through the cake's richness.
After we each finished our orders, it didn't feel indulgent enough, so we ordered one more slice of matcha mille crêpe. You take a spoonful, I take a spoonful, and soon the plate was clean.
The Londoner Shopping Centre is connected to Four Seasons Shops, accessible via indoor walkway, so no worries about bad weather when heading out. Four Seasons Shops was also a main shopping target for us this time, gathering many top-tier luxury brands with products covering clothing, shoes and bags, beauty, jewelry, and more. The mall is quiet, with sleek and simple decor. Because visitor numbers in Macau have drastically decreased, it's now easy to get popular items that used to be out of stock.
There are truly so many big brands. After walking a round, my friend and I sighed in unison. If only we were a bit richer, we might have been even happier, ha ha. Since graduating, I haven't bought a designer bag yet. Watching my bank account grow, I felt it was time to treat myself to a big gift! LV, here we come!
It wasn't crowded at first, but after we entered the store and browsed, we realized these luxury stores actually had queue control. Looking at other customers lining up outside made us inside feel even luckier. This teaches us a lesson: the early bird catches the worm—remember to arrive early when visiting popular stores.
The sales staff at LV were very courteous, never making anyone uncomfortable. To provide helpful service, they chat with you to understand your needs and then recommend suitable products. If you're like me and don't have a specific style in mind, you can just browse the store on your own and take your time.
When the saleslady showed us the new LV models, my eyes lit up. Truly worthy of a luxury brand, impeccable in texture and feel. The recent exchange rate in Macau is fantastic, making the converted price even better!
An LV 19-inch toiletry bag, for just around 3,000. You can buy this bag and DIY it—there are tutorials online. Getting the joy of LV for just 3,000, totally worth it!
In every woman's subconscious lies the pursuit of beauty. As someone not naturally gifted, I pay even more attention to acquired effort and love watching beauty vloggers in my free time. Through persistence, my makeup skills have improved a lot; I know how to conceal my facial flaws and highlight the strong points. I've also gained insight into buying cosmetics and skincare—don't blindly follow trends and buy products unsuitable for your skin type; choose quality-assured brand products. The DFS store at Four Seasons Shops has a plethora of brands. Friends who love Euro-American makeup can find some niche European color cosmetics here, all with very reliable quality.
So many free testers that I could stay in the store all day.
The LE LABO perfume counter—as you approach, you can smell an array of fragrances. Their Santal 33, blending strength and gentleness, is a scent I have loved for a long time, giving a cool yet slightly sweet feeling. You can test the fragrances in-store before deciding which one to buy. There's no need to buy many bottles; having one that matches your personality is enough.
In early spring, Macau is mostly sunny. It would be a shame not to go out and enjoy such beautiful weather. My friend and I were both a bit lazy and didn't want to go too far, so we chose Macau Fisherman's Wharf. This place combines dining, shopping, entertainment, and theme parks, with its most outstanding feature being the replica Colosseum, giving it a strong sense of history.
Every candid photo we took looked like a blockbuster shot. The area isn't big—it takes just over ten minutes to explore—making it perfect as the ending for a Macau trip.
I was so happy to have this close encounter with Macau, experiencing a vibrant and colorful trip. On top of that, staying at The Londoner Hotel was incredibly comfortable. On check-out day, the hotel even offered a free shuttle to the airport, saving us another taxi fare—how could we not be thrilled? Friends who love traveling, eating, and having fun, come and experience this lively city of Macau quickly!
