Macau Family Trip: A Foolproof Guide to Help You Explore Macau with Ease
Hey, have you ever missed a city so much that you desperately wanted to see it again? That's how I felt! This March, when the warm breeze blew, I returned to Macau. Travel remains the same, Macau is still beautiful, and I am still happy!
They say that if you miss someone, go see them; the same goes for missing a city. Macau, thank you for your beauty, and thank you for being just as wonderful as ever!

The hotel we stayed at, The Parisian Macao, has a dedicated children's playground — Qube Kingdom on the 6th floor. It is spacious, with indoor and outdoor areas, slides, carousels, toy and game zones, as well as a children's rest and dining area. Directly accessible from the hotel rooms, very convenient. 🏨 My room in Macau had a view of the French Eiffel Tower. This 2:1 replica of the Parisian Eiffel Tower shines brilliantly at night — an unforgettable landmark of The Parisian Macao. Besides that, the hotel features over 20 replicas of Parisian landmarks, making you feel like you've traveled to Paris in an instant. The Neptune Fountain sculpture in the lobby on the first floor is the magnificent heart of the hotel. Standing there, you easily feel the impulse: "Oh, Paris! Paris! I've finally arrived!" You want to shop, to feast, to watch shows, and to buy, buy, buy! Well, I did all that too — let me show you around.
🔺The Parisian has a stunning exhibition: "teamLab SuperNature Macau", mentioned above — absolutely worth visiting; trust me, you won't be disappointed. Staying at The Parisian gives you discount coupons for the exhibition.
🎠 Family-friendly space in the hotel: Qube Kingdom on the 6th floor — families with children must not miss this. While kids play there, one parent can go shopping or enjoy a relaxing spa.
🛍 Crazy shopping: Montaigne Avenue in The Parisian Shopping Centre on the 3rd and 5th floors has several boutique clothing stores for fashion lovers. At the same time, Champs-Élysées, Rue Saint-Honoré, and Place Vendôme feature high-end leather goods, bag shops, and luxury stores — well worth a leisurely browse. The Parisian Macao connects to the neighboring The Venetian, Four Seasons Shops, and Sands Plaza, seamlessly linking to other shopping and dining options.
🍤 Eat to your heart's content: Even without leaving the hotel, you can enjoy cuisine from around the world — Chinese food is naturally available, along with Japanese, French, and many other choices. At Parisian Pavilion inside the Eiffel Tower, you can dine while overlooking the panoramic view of the Cotai Strip — spectacular at night, and even Sophie Marceau has taken beautiful photos here.
🛋 Champagne Suite upgrade: When booking at The Parisian, I was lucky to get upgraded to the Champagne Suite. Over 70 square meters, it features a white, warm-toned style, fresh and elegant with a vintage charm. Both soft and hardware are top-notch, and the view outside the window is exquisite. Honestly, after not traveling for a long time, I wanted for nothing more!
The Eiffel Tower at The Parisian Macao is a 2:1 replica of the original, a signature landmark of the hotel. It is spectacular by day and dazzling by night — no matter how you shoot, it's a perfect shot. Bringing your baby to Macau, the key is the child's happiness, but mom also needs to record her own highlight moments! During my several days' stay, I took photos while in the hotel and compiled a few personally tested photo spots of the Eiffel Tower — these are superb urban views of Macau. Let me share them so moms can go and snap beautiful pictures!
1. 🔺Pont des Arts: Located at the base of the Eiffel Tower, this is the必经之路 to ascend the tower. You can capture photos with an industrial-depth feel of the tower's base. However, if you don't go up the tower, just taking photos at Pont des Arts is free — enter from the Parisian Eiffel Tower souvenir shop.
2. 🔺Parisian Garden: The small garden opposite The Parisian, a 3-minute walk away. This is the perfect spot to capture the full Eiffel Tower. The lawn is flat and green — in the photo, you have the garden and lawn in front and the Eiffel Tower standing in the distance — beautiful and peaceful.
3. 🔺Tower 37th Floor Observation Deck: Walk through the Parisian Colonnade, take the elevator directly to the 37th-floor observation deck of the Eiffel Tower. You can enjoy a panoramic view of Macau. At night, looking at the brilliantly lit, splendid Parisian Hotel opposite, you'll fall in love with Macau in an instant. The tower is open from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily, last entry at 9:15 PM.
4. 🔺Hotel Garden to Capture Full Tower: From the exit of The Parisian gym on the way to the pool, you can see the side view of the full tower. There are usually few people here. Sit by the flower bed and take a photo with the tower — easy and undisturbed.
5. 🔺Terrace Opposite the Tower: On the walkway to The Venetian, there is an outdoor terrace (actually a smoking area) where you can take amazing photos with the tower. The tower is especially beautiful to shoot at night when it's lit up.
6. 🔺Front of the Hotel Directly Opposite the Tower Base: You can get a very symmetrical perspective of the tower's base. Using a wide-angle lens, you can capture a grand, imposing photo with the steel structure — basically without any interference from other pedestrians.
7. 🔺Hotel Entrance with Tower: Stand at the base of the tower, shoot upwards with you and the tower. You can include some passersby and later use motion blur to blur them, creating a quick-paced Parisian street vibe.
When in Macau, exploring the city's culinary scenes is a must. In every vegetable and every grain of rice lies the vibrant life and soul of Macau. Today, I'm sharing three restaurants that are reasonably priced, delicious, interesting, and unique — definitely worth a visit for foodies. Remember to bookmark for future use!
🍖 Tim Ho Wan: "The World's Most Affordable Michelin"
Located in The Londoner Macao Hotel, Tim Ho Wan is a world-famous Hong Kong dim sum restaurant with a Michelin one-star rating. For around 100 MOP per person, you can enjoy excellent Cantonese dishes and dim sum. Their "order and steam" philosophy ensures the freshness and texture of the food. The most popular items include Malay cake, baked BBQ pork buns, pork liver rice noodle rolls, black gold bean paste buns, and chicken feet in black bean sauce — all delightful. Pair it with a strong, chilled yuanyang (coffee tea) for a perfect Cantonese meal experience.
📍 Location: First floor, The Londoner Macao Hotel
📌 Tips: Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner; might need to queue during meal times.
🍖 Fok Lo Portuguese Restaurant
This Portuguese restaurant hides on Rua da Felicidade in Macau's old quarter. Its façade is modest, but it has a strong nostalgic feel. Push the door open, climb the steps to the second floor, and squeeze past other diners to reach your own small seat. Sunlight streams through the lattice windows, the ceiling fan turns slowly, and customers eat and chat softly — a scene straight out of a Wong Kar-wai movie.
Portuguese cuisine is very special and not commonly found. Macau's local specialty, "African Chicken", is deeply baked with multi-flavored sauces and spices, resulting in a rich, thick, and soft texture, with wonderful layers. The curry crab uses whole hairy crabs drenched in a slightly sweet wet curry — the crab meat is satisfying, and the sauce is fantastic with rice. The dessert pudding is actually free and delicious; even the pre-meal bread is freshly baked. Despite being a small restaurant, they pay attention to details — truly refined.
📍 Location: Middle of Rua da Felicidade, Macau old town
📌 Tips: Serves lunch and dinner; afternoon tea also available. Service is excellent.
Hoi Wong Cafe in Taipa is located in a bustling area but still uncompromisingly sticks to a budget-friendly approach. Push the door open to find neon lights flickering inside, like an old-fashioned market — a favorite among locals and regulars for its great taste and high value.
Their BBQ pork double combo, beef offal, wonton noodles, and radish with oil look ordinary, but once you try them, you'll find generous portions and authentic flavors. The BBQ pork is juicy and slightly sweet, with a perfect chew. Wonton noodles seem simple, but add a serving of beef offal — true foodies are demanding about offal: it must be flavorful and tender. This place delivers. Friends gathering, a cold beer, a yuanyang, or an iced lemon tea — this high-value meal will definitely satisfy you!
📍 Location: Rua de Bragança, Taipa, shop below Kam Lei Building
📌 Tips: Signature beef offal, hand-made fish balls, and red bean ice are all excellent.
1. Currently, visitors from all provinces can go to Macau with a valid Mainland China Exit and Entry Permit and a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test result within 7 days. No quarantine is required upon return. Macau is super clean and orderly, with well-managed pandemic control. Right now, there are relatively few tourists, making it perfect for shopping and eating! This trip made me feel my happiness again.
2. All prices above are in Macau pataca (MOP). Payment via Alipay or WeChat Pay is fine; exchange rates are real-time, very convenient. The exchange rate in March was 0.813, meaning about 1 RMB equals 1.22 MOP.
3. Visiting the Macau Parisian Eiffel Tower: Entrance is on the 5th floor of The Parisian Shopping Centre, shop 550, entering through the Parisian Eiffel Tower souvenir shop. Open from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM; last entry at 9:15 PM. Adults 110 MOP, children under 12 years 90 MOP, family package for two adults and two children 318 MOP.
