Perfectly Avoiding Peak Travel Season, Macau, Here We Come!

As a 'worker' who doesn't have to be in the office, I have a very flexible schedule. The advantage is that while everyone else is at work, I can travel, check out famous attractions, explore new shops, and all without having to queue. This time I chose to visit Macau on a weekday, considering that there are more tourists on holidays and weekends. The benefits of avoiding peak travel season don't stop there; even my choices for hotels become more abundant. Macau's tourism industry has always been very developed. When there are many tourists, many large hotels are fully booked, and properties under Sands Macau such as The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Conrad Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao, and The St. Regis Macao are especially sought after by travelers. It's better to book a hotel early rather than late.

The Parisian Macao is located on Estrada do Istmo in the Cotai Strip, surrounded by other Sands Macau properties, with convenient transportation. After crossing the border, we took the hotel's complimentary shuttle bus and arrived in just over 20 minutes. We didn't have a chance to come to Macau during the Spring Festival, but it's not too late now—the decorations on the Eiffel Tower haven't been taken down yet.

The hotel building is in a French style, with many exquisite murals and carvings on the exterior walls. Although I'm not an architecture student, I could still feel a wave of architectural beauty—perhaps art is universal.

The hotel entrance is very grand, with dedicated doormen to open the door. We didn't forget to say thank you when we entered. After stepping into the lobby, I realized what a five-star luxury hotel really is. Seeing the interior decoration and amenities, I just want to say: the money was well spent!

The check-in counter was so long that I didn't know which desk to go to at first, but luckily a staff member guided us. Since it was a weekday, there weren't many guests, so we quickly completed the check-in and got our room keys. The hotel staff also shared some good food recommendations—looks like everyone is a foodie, haha.

I booked the Lyon King Suite. The room has a light luxury style, with elegant color tones—just my style. The space is very large, with a separate living room, and the soundproofing is good. Both the bedroom and living room are carpeted, so walking barefoot is not cold at all, very soft.

The hallway is equipped with lights, so you don't have to worry about the dark when getting up at night. The bathroom has not only a shower but also a huge bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak to relieve travel fatigue.

After coming to Macau, I no longer have to worry about eating. Just strolling through the food court at The Parisian can fill you up, let alone the many restaurants here. Today, let me share two restaurants that I think are good. First is Sè Xiāng Wèi (Color Aroma Taste), where you can have breakfast. There's a wide variety and the prices are reasonable.

The restaurant is on the ground floor lobby of the hotel. The interior decoration style is somewhat Southeast Asian, with rattan-woven chairs that are very comfortable to sit on. The best thing about this restaurant is that it's open 24 hours. Whether you want an early breakfast or a late-night snack, it can satisfy all your needs.

The Soy Sauce King Chow Mein is a signature snack here. The noodles are thin and chewy, paired with a savory sauce—really delicious. They have many types of noodles. My friend ordered a bowl of soup noodles called Luncheon Meat and Egg Noodles, which had luncheon meat and eggs, quite nutritious.

Red bean soup with sesame-filled glutinous rice balls—those with a sweet tooth should give it a try. The Western breakfast had roasted tomatoes topped with black pepper, a flavor I had never tasted before.

Sally's Portuguese Egg Tarts have also been moved into the Sè Xiāng Wèi restaurant. Remember to try their egg tarts.

The Bālí Xuān Restaurant is a great place for dinner. It's located on the 6th floor of the Eiffel Tower, offering top-notch outdoor views. Before entering the restaurant, there is a glass walkway where you can see the scenery outside. We had planned to strike some poses and take a bunch of great photos, but unexpectedly a staff member led us into the restaurant, so we just asked her to take a group photo for us.

I've always considered myself bad at taking photos, but after entering this restaurant, I felt my artistic cells were activated. Looking at the photos I took of the restaurant on my phone, I was so proud. But when I shared them with my parents, they told me to eat less and lose weight—so hurtful, haha. This restaurant is very special because it incorporates many structural parts of the tower. These steel frames subtly divide the space, giving the seating areas a bit more privacy.

Luckily, we managed to book a window seat, so we could not only enjoy the food but also the view of the Cotai Strip. While we were still discussing the Parisian Park outside the window, the waiter had already started serving the dishes—very fast. As a seafood lover, I ordered oysters. They were fresh and plump, making my mouth water involuntarily.

The Char Siu Noodles (with a soul-stirring taste) had a generous portion and could be eaten as a main dish.

Pan-seared M9 Wagyu beef had a truffle aroma and was tender. The Alaska crab meat golden thread curry balls were plated like a work of art, with vibrant colors, combining taste and appearance.

This dessert is called Portuguese Thousand-Layer Egg Tart with Cinnamon Ice Cream. The thin pastry was crispy, and the ice cream had a rich milky flavor. The black sesame balls and almond jelly inside were also very tasty, making it a dessert with rich textures.

Those who have been to The Parisian Shoppes have essentially walked the streets of France. There are fashion streets like Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Avenue Montaigne, and Place Vendôme, each with a strong Parisian vibe. Looking at these luxury brand stores, I felt both happy and worried—happy to browse through all the famous domestic and international brands at once, but sad because my wallet might be in trouble.

The shopping malls under Sands often have free performances. You'll also often encounter street performers while walking. Don't be too surprised; remember to greet them and take a photo together—it will be a very precious picture.

I.T is a brand from Hong Kong, and it carries many other niche trendy brands. The store offers a wide range of products including clothing, shoes, bags, and many collaboration items. When we went, the store was having a discount promotion, so things were much cheaper than usual.

Spring is coming soon, so I need to get new clothes ready; otherwise, I won't know what to wear. The women's clothing designs at I.T are very trendy and not easy to clash with others.

Seeing the Comme des Garçons T-shirts reminded me of my brother who is in college, so I bought two for him. There were so many nice clothes, but I didn't know how to best coordinate them. When it comes to styling, besides looking more, you should also ask the salesgirls—they are very happy to help you with outfit recommendations.

The Thom Browne sneakers caught my eye perfectly, but unfortunately, they didn't have my size. The salesperson said a size 35 was sold out just that morning. My heart ached when I heard that!

IRO at Shop 355-356 on the 3rd floor of The Parisian Shoppes was also having a promotion: spend MOP 5,000 on selected regular-priced items and get 12% off; spend MOP 5,000 on selected sale items and get an extra 5% off. IRO's shoes and clothes are also nice, and you can try them on freely in the store.

The Four Seasons Shops under Sands Macau is located inside the Four Seasons Hotel, open from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. If you come to Macau specifically for shopping, you must come here. You can find luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, Cartier, and more, and you might even find surprising discounts.

KWANPEN's crocodile bags are not for everyone. Originally, we didn't plan to go in, but when we heard the salesperson say there were discounts, we had to join in on such a good deal.

For the first time, I felt crocodiles weren't so scary. The texture of the bags was so beautiful and felt very high-quality. Their products' boldness is in the colors; actually, the bag styles are quite classic.

The mall is huge. Some stores had no customers, while others were bustling with people—quite a difference. My friend and I decided to shop with a purpose, otherwise we might end up buying nothing.

Loewe's bags are quite versatile and suitable for many occasions. After entering the store, the saleslady showed us several new arrivals and kindly helped us try them on.

I'm someone who likes to stuff a lot of odds and ends into my bag, so I wanted to buy a larger one for daily commuting. This Puzzle bag comes in sand and light caramel colors. Which color do you think is more versatile?

The saleslady was so enthusiastic; she showed us several styles in a row, making our eyes dizzy.

My friend came to Macau without bringing any cosmetics or skincare products. She's been mooching off mine during our stay. It's not because she's poor, but because she's lazy and didn't want to add weight to her luggage. On the first day in Macau, she started visiting duty-free shops. Today, it was DFS at Four Seasons Shops. Watching her buy boxes of toner and lotion, I decided to 'extort' her when we get back tonight, haha.

Although the Cotai Arena hasn't held many concerts this year, the teamLab SuperNature at The Venetian Macao, as one of the top ten must-see exhibitions globally, is still worth visiting. Tickets for the exhibition can be booked online with free choice of time slots. Everyone should pay attention to the opening hours.

This was also my first time visiting teamLab SuperNature. I had no idea what to expect and just took photos. The exhibition is divided into several themed rooms, including the Infinite Crystal Universe, Flower and Human Valley, Floating in the Universe, and more.

The Flower and Human Valley was so beautiful. Colorful flowers bloomed as you touched them, one patch after another, eventually forming a sea of flowers.

The Grand Canal Shoppes also has an entertainment experience—the Gondola ride. My friend and I decided on a whim to buy tickets at the Gondola Gift & Ticket Shop. Along the way, we enjoyed the beautiful sky and Italian-style architecture.

Macau is truly an international city. When buying tickets, I checked the price list and found it had four languages. There weren't many people on the boats, so we directly boarded a gondola with a foreign gondolier and began the wonderful canal journey.

The gondolier was multi-talented—not only did he sing well, but he also played the guitar skillfully.

While shopping in Macau, there were some things I didn't get, so I specially added the saleslady's WeChat to ask her to notify me when they're back in stock. Overall, I am very satisfied with this trip. It seems choosing to travel on weekdays was a wise decision.

I recommend that if you're thinking of coming to Macau, now is really the best time. There aren't too many people, room prices are cheap, and there are discounts on dining and shopping. In short, just come!
