A 3-Day Macau Fun Itinerary: Save It Secretly, Go Now!

Allow me to start this travelogue by thanking my dear friend for her warm hospitality. Ever since she went to study in Macau, she kept inviting me to visit. Being someone who shies away from hassle, I kept putting it off. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore and gave me an ultimatum. She said she had already planned a three-day Macau itinerary for me, so all I needed to do was show up—no other worries. When my good friend went that far, how could I refuse? I had to go! After sorting out my travel permit and visa, I also took a nucleic acid test. With everything ready, I boarded the plane to Macau alone. Even though Macau is technically abroad, it's super convenient to get to, especially if you live in Guangzhou, Zhuhai, or Shenzhen. You could even pop over on an ordinary weekend for a shopping spree. Now, you just need a nucleic acid test taken within seven days—no quarantine required. Oh, and don't worry about food or accommodation in Macau. You can choose from Sands' hotels like The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Conrad Macau, Sheraton Grand Macao, or St. Regis Macao. My friend booked me a suite at The Venetian Macao~

She booked it on the hotel's official website, and since we stayed two nights, we got a 30% discount. Remember to keep an eye on Ctrip and the Sands website for the latest accommodation deals. Booking in advance often comes with extra surprise perks, which can save you quite a bit. The Venetian Macao is huge, looking good from every angle—no bad photo ops here.

The indoor lobby totally reset my idea of what a hotel could be—so, so grand! The gold everywhere makes you wonder just how much money was poured into building it!

My suite was spacious, with a fresh and elegant style and all the amenities. Just knowing I'd be staying two nights here got me excited for the days ahead.

A living room with such taste—rare indeed. The furniture was complete, and the sofa chairs were so comfy you'd never want to get up.

I absolutely loved the bathroom style—retro yet with modern minimalist art, and a sophisticated color scheme. The wet and dry areas were separate, with a bathtub, shower stall, and a separate toilet. The space wasn't huge, but it never felt cramped.

The hotel's facilities were even more comprehensive than I expected. Not just one swimming pool, but several. With the weather warming up, swimmers can come here for a cool summer experience and even brush up on their skills.

The indoor gym equipment is top-notch—pull, push, lift, pedal, jump; you can work every muscle group. Plus, professional fitness instructors are on hand to guide you, giving you VIP treatment without spending a dime~

Nobody could resist the water town scenery at The Grand Canal Shoppes. Everything here makes you feel like you're in Venice. The Italian-style architecture with its unique eaves is a photographer's dream. The mall has three canals flowing through it, and a gondola ride is a classic must-do.

With hundreds of shops inside The Grand Canal Shoppes and various promotions going on, you won't know where to start. IZZUI had a deal: 30% off selected spring new arrivals when you buy three. Their clothes are very design-forward, and I really dig that laid-back vibe. The loose-fitting pieces are comfy, mostly light-colored, and easy to mix and match.

Lord Stow's egg tarts are a specialty you'll regret skipping. Even though you have to queue, the staff work quickly, and the long line shrinks fast. Many customers seemed like regulars, placing their orders with practiced ease—unlike me, who dithered for ages.

The original Portuguese egg tart, you could eat a million and never tire of it: crispy on the outside, tender inside, with a rich milky aroma, sweet but not cloying, and big in size. I wolfed down two in a row and was almost too full.

There are countless restaurants inside The Venetian Macao. If you love trying new things, you can sample Indian, Portuguese, Italian, and all kinds of global cuisines. If you're a spice-loving northerner like me, I highly recommend the Northern Restaurant. They have a wide selection, generous portions, and friendly prices. Best of all, the food is genuinely tasty—the chef's skills are trustworthy!

The restaurant has a classical Chinese style, with bold red accents. They have an open kitchen where you can watch the chef pull noodles—the steam and action remind me of watching my mom cook over the stove when I was little.

We ordered the stir-fried roasted lamb with buns and the capital-style crispy prawn—six buns came with the lamb, a seriously huge portion. The crispy prawn was fried crunchy, sweet and tangy, crispy outside and tender inside.

We also had soup dumplings—thin skin and plenty of broth. They come out piping hot, so be careful. The Shikumen drunken chicken was another dish you can't get enough of; it's a cold dish with tender chicken and a subtle rice wine aroma.

From the moment I stepped into the teamLab Supernature exhibition, I knew I'd entered an extraordinary space. All sorts of magical things happen around you. For example, standing amid a sea of flowers, your stillness or movement causes the blossoms to bloom or wither.

The exhibition is divided into several themed zones, each with its own way to interact. First-time visitors should check online guides. I read someone else's post beforehand and wore simple, solid-colored clothes, which turned out to match the backdrops perfectly in photos!

My friend knows I'm lazy, so she took me to places very close to the hotel. After exploring The Venetian Macao inside out, we headed to The Parisian Macao next door to admire its romantic French architecture. It was my first time seeing the Eiffel Tower replica, and it felt just like the real thing I'd pictured—its spire seeming to pierce the sky.

Just across the road is the Parisian Garden. Before coming, I muttered to myself, what's so special about a garden? But once inside, I realized it's a perfect photo spot. Standing on the lawn, you get a full view of the tower, and the photos have a great sense of composition and depth.

Good weather lifts your spirits. The garden's landscaping is wonderful, with rows of lush trees providing shade and benches for visitors to rest.

While I was still lost in The Venetian's Italian freshness and The Parisian's French romance, my friend said she wanted to show me a posh British-style hotel—she meant the newly opened The Londoner Macao. We walked there via the sky bridge, passing all sorts of quirky sights like the Londoner Underground, Londoner Bridge, red phone booths, Big Ben, and British-style postboxes.

The Crystal Palace inside the hotel was breathtaking. The Cupid statue was so lifelike, striking a cool pose with his bow and arrow.

The giant teacup in the shopping center has intricate patterns that tell a story. The oversized phone booths aren't just for looking—you can sit inside and rest. The London Discovery Taxi Tour is also a great photo spot. When you visit The Londoner Macao, dress your best and snap plenty of photos; looking at them later can lift your mood when you're feeling down!

Many shops in the mall had promotions, with incredibly low discount prices you rarely see. Watching tourists haul shopping bags stuffed with loot made my heart itch to buy. Still, I encourage rational shopping—just get what you need. Well, I decided I needed a new bag, so I popped into GUCCI.

The bag styles were varied, and the prices are moderate for luxury goods. Macau has an exchange rate advantage, so overall they're cheaper than mainland boutiques. The sales assistant said since we came early, some popular models were still in stock, and she enthusiastically explained the design details of each.

The GUCCI staff were super friendly and made you feel genuinely looked after. Whatever questions or needs you had, they were there to help. They gave thoughtful recommendations and were extremely patient when I tried on bags. And their sense of style is quite good—you can trust them to help you match items.

Worried I might get bored, my friend tried to spice up the itinerary and took me to Rua do Cunha. We walked straight from the hotel, not far—about 20 minutes. It's a food street in the old town with lots of character, and also a super Instagrammable art street. The surrounding buildings are covered in colorful graffiti, looking really cool.

Since it's a food street, I have to show you the many mouthwatering eats here! First up, Mok Yi Kei's durian ice cream is mind-blowingly delicious. If it wouldn't melt, I'd pack some to take home!

Century Coffee only takes cash, so make sure you have some on hand. After ordering, we stood outside and watched the owner make the clay pot coffee in fascination. Check out this candid shot—pretty cool, right?

Since the sun was beating down, we decided to eat inside before continuing. The décor is simple, but the place is clean. Some vintage items were placed around, adding a nostalgic vibe.

Must-order items: charcoal clay pot coffee, beef and egg sandwich, and corned beef thick egg toast. The thick bread is fried, giving it a crispy texture, paired with soft scrambled eggs—so good you'll stomp your feet!

The scenery on Rua do Cunha is just stunning, especially on sunny days—like a town from an anime. The houses aren't just homes; they're artistic landmarks. The wall graffiti is especially romantic. Friends, I've tested it: taking beautiful photos here is a piece of cake!

Finally, let me express my gratitude once more. Huge thanks to my bestie for inviting me to Macau and thoughtfully planning a three-day itinerary. For a hassle-avoider like me, she was an absolute angel. I also want to thank my past self for deciding to come. By coming, I got to see such a rich world and deeply feel the unique charm of this historic little city. Next time, no need for my friend to nudge me—I'll come on my own. Macau, round two, here I come!
