Sizzling summer is here, the season to show some skin again. How can you not go on a crazy shopping spree when it's time to flaunt your figure? If your wallet still has some spare cash and you have that spontaneous urge to travel, why not go on a spur-of-the-moment shopping trip to Macau! Online shopping sprees might be convenient, but they lack the real, immersive feel. A whole year's pent-up shopping desire can't be released that way. Come to Macau for the ultimate shopping frenzy and shop till you drop! But before heading to Macau, make sure you've got your visa and a COVID test taken within 7 days, then pack light and follow me as we set off!

For a crazy shopping trip in Macau, choosing a hotel with a strong guest experience is essential. Before leaving, I researched several hotels online. Netizens recommended The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Conrad Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao, and The St. Regis Macao – all under Sands Macao. Not only do they look grand and upscale, but the service is also very thoughtful. After browsing photos online, I felt The Venetian Macao suited my preferences best, so I booked it in advance on the official website. Booking two consecutive nights even gave me a 20% discount – not bad at all.

After exiting the airport, I hopped on a free shuttle bus straight to The Venetian Macao. After handing my luggage to the bellhop, I took a stroll around the area. Walking along the canal, the hotel opposite boasts a distinct charm, with Western architectural lines that exude an ambience reminiscent of the real Venice on water. Even just being near the hotel, you can enjoy such tranquility – quite a rare find.

Pushing open the doors of The Venetian Macao, the entire lobby is wrapped in golden hues. Statues of various shapes stand mysteriously and tastefully throughout the hall. Even without any background in Western art, you can still feel the beauty here. The murals above and on the walls further let you sense the moving artistry within what seems like an cold structure. Walking here feels like wandering through a world of art and literature, absorbing the essence of Western art.

Check-in was fast, and the staff even thoughtfully asked if I’d like a complimentary upgrade to a suite – a treatment I’d never dare dream of on the mainland. I’d booked a luxury suite, and upon opening the door, it looked exactly like the photos. The combination of white and blue added warmth to the room. The sunken living room design enhanced the sense of space, complemented by a wall painting of a small town – truly unique. The bed was large enough and very comfy. Turning on the warm bedside lamp, the soft light promised a good night’s sleep. If you’re in the mood, you can also switch on a gentle light at night, pour a glass of red wine, and overlook the entire city of Macau, taking in The Venetian Macao’s distinctive night views – an experience you’ll never forget.

The bathroom is also designed to be upscale and grand, with plenty of mirrors and bright lighting, allowing you to see yourself from all angles – perfect for girls who love checking themselves out. It has both a shower and a bathtub, with the right water temperature and quick drainage. The bath amenities aren’t low-grade either; I especially loved the shower gel, which left a subtle fragrance after use. The bathrobe isn’t made of stiff material either; it fits just right and is very soft. A warm milk bath is just perfect to wash away the day’s fatigue.

After a night of rest and rejuvenation, I was full of energy the next day and started my shopping journey. Apart from the great stay experience, another reason I chose The Venetian Macao is that it’s surrounded by four major shopping centres, namely the Shoppes at Venetian, Shoppes at Parisian, Shoppes at Four Seasons, and The Londoner Macao Shopping Centre, all located on the second and third floors of the hotel. They are interconnected and within walking distance.

The Shoppes at Venetian is one of Macau’s large-scale shopping centres spanning several floors, bringing together hundreds of stores and brands big and small from both home and abroad – it’s sure to dazzle you. If you like affordable brands, definitely check out ZARA and H&M; they launch the latest styles all year round, and more importantly, with various discounts and promotions. Of course, if you prefer niche brands with strong personalities, or even streetwear and punk culture labels, you can find them here too. Without any preparation, you’ll easily spot your favourite store!

I’m focusing on this store because the discounts made everything so cheap that I ended up shopping there like crazy for two hours, buying clothes non-stop and sending tons of photos to my girlfriends’ group chat. The store is huge, with a very complete range of styles, and the sales assistants are really helpful. Many clothes start at 59, with buy-one-get-one-free offers – literally cheaper than dirt. I noticed that many new arrivals were also on sale, and with the exchange rate, it’s much cheaper than on the mainland. If you pay by scanning a QR code, there are additional discount thresholds, so you can basically buy a year’s worth of clothes right here.

The architecture and decor of Shoppes at Parisian are quite different from the Venetian’s. It’s a full reproduction of French style, with romantic settings like the Champs-Élysées and Place Vendôme all converging in one place – truly a special feel. Walking from the Shoppes at Venetian to the Shoppes at Parisian gives you a surreal sense of time travel. Inside this French-romance-themed mall, you can fully immerse yourself in the latest fashion trends and be a trendsetter.

This understated, light-luxury French brand is an absolute favourite among office workers. The clothes are fashionably designed, made with comfortable fabrics, and you rarely run into someone wearing the same outfit. Its stores are scarce on the mainland, so I usually buy through personal shoppers, but the prices aren’t cheap. The store at Shoppes at Parisian is huge, and I fell in love with their vibrant accessories and various dress suits. Unfortunately, I don’t have long legs, so I could only pick petite styles, but they all make my legs look longer. Paired with their accessories, you’ll exude great presence for any occasion. I never expected to run into a promotion this time in Macau – selected items are 50% to 70% off, with very complete size runs. If your size isn’t available, the sales assistant will kindly add you on WeChat and arrange a transfer from another store, plus they give out various coupons. After all the discounts, one piece can be hundreds cheaper than buying through a personal shopper. Bags were also on sale, so I picked several, which could also be combined with the spend-and-save offer.

Billed as Asia’s strongest, the Shoppes at Four Seasons is definitely a shopping paradise for luxury cosmetics. You’ll be overwhelmed by the array of big brands, with ones you find on the mainland and those you don’t. There’s even personalized service – a five-star treatment you definitely don't get everyday. Most importantly, the luxury brands here even offer discounts. Though the discounts aren’t huge, a GUCCI bag can save you several hundred, and a new LV model also comes with a discount. Isn’t that just irresistible?

I was completely pulled into this brand by my college roommate. After trying their cream and treatment lotion, I felt they were perfect for girls like me with oily outside, dry inside skin. The cream is a true love for summer – after use, my skin feels so hydrated, and the next morning my face is fresh. I also feel it has oil-control effects, which is amazing. I highly recommend the treatment lotion too; I find it quite effective at brightening skin tone. There are many stores on the mainland, but when I ran into one in Macau I went in. Some products were 20% off, and you could get a free skincare treatment. Best of all, after purchasing, they gave tons of samples – I feel like I can stock up on a whole year’s skincare! The sales assistant was lovely, not only explaining seriously but also telling me about all the deals, making sure I didn’t miss any chance to save. After calculation, one gift set saved me several hundred – love it!

The beautician carefully doing treatments — and I’m next!

I want to take all of you home, but I must control myself!

Next, let me show you my loot!

A full haul, no arguments!

This cream is a must-buy – it works wonders for dry skin!

Putting it on my hand to show you — isn't it super moisturizing? Just go for it~~

As everyone knows, the UK has many century-old shops or specialty brands that do no advertising and have no online shopping at all, only physical stores in the UK. Many beloved British brands could only be bought through personal shoppers. But now, with The Londoner Macao Shopping Centre, many of these stores can be seen right here in Macau. I’m beyond excited – let’s shop like crazy and take them home!

This is a very affordable British supermarket with several locations in Macau, but the one at The Londoner Macao Shopping Centre is larger. From snacks to daily necessities to general merchandise, they have it all. When there’s a big sale, you can buy all sorts of delicious treats to take home. Not only are many items buy-one-get-one-free, but there are also spend-and-save offers. I usually love their snacks, and this time I completely lost control! There are all kinds of pasta, even more varieties than online. Breakfast teas and afternoon teas are also must-buys; you can bring them back as gifts with lovely packaging. My favourite tortilla chips are so cheap, of course I grabbed a few extra bags. Biscuits and bar snacks are also must-gets – pairing them together tastes amazing. Oh, and the craft beer is a must – that classic British flavour, you’ll never get enough!

Due to the tight schedule, there were many must-see spots I didn’t get to visit, but the most important thing is I bought everything I wanted – whether skincare, shoes, or bags, I pretty much scored it all. I also brought back many gifts for my family, and anything that didn’t fit in my luggage I mailed back to the mainland. Besides shopping, I also hit the famous Rua do Cunha, where I tasted incredibly authentic Portuguese egg tarts – great quality at low prices. I also checked out the renowned Lotus Palace, where the color, aroma, and taste were all perfect – no wonder it consistently ranks at the top of Macau’s food scene. Before leaving, I bought lots of souvenirs to take home. The shopping spree was satisfying, and the food tasting was spot on. It really was a perfect trip – I absolutely loved it!
