DFS 11th ‘Legacy of Excellence’ Series Returns for the Second Consecutive Year at City of Dreams Macau

Over 100 precious vintages from 50 legendary brands: A new realm of tasting

March 8, 2023, Hong Kong/China – The world’s leading luxury travel retailer DFS Group once again partners with the premier integrated entertainment and leisure resort City of Dreams Macau to host the ‘Legacy of Excellence’ wine tasting series at DFS T Galleria by City of Dreams Macau. The 2023 theme, ‘A New Realm of Tasting,’ offers consumers over 100 acclaimed vintages from around the world, including wines, champagnes, whiskies, cognacs, and other spirits from 50 globally renowned brands.

With the full resumption of travel and international tourism, DFS is once again hosting a series of ‘Legacy of Excellence’ tastings worldwide. In March, the first tasting of the year will be held in Macau, showcasing precious vintages from 50 world-renowned brands, promising unique surprises with rare cellars, distillery new releases, exclusive bottles, and special collections crafted for DFS.

DFS invites all to experience the tasting of fine wines as a precious journey through the ‘Legacy of Excellence’ series. Guests are encouraged to elevate their sensory experience by appreciating the craftsmanship of noble creations, feeling the bottle design, sniffing unique aromas, tasting the complex tannins, and even understanding the spirit behind them. The carefully curated exclusive products by DFS’s professional team reflect DFS’s commitment to tradition, history, craftsmanship, and innovation. These masterpieces embody exquisite skill and superior quality, aiming to let guests taste a new realm, experience timeless legends, and indulge in extraordinary moments.

Hennessy Paradis x Bäumer NBA Limited Edition

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NBA, Hennessy has released a limited edition Paradis cognac in an intricately crafted crystal decanter shaped like a basketball, handmade by Baccarat crystal. The designer is Lorenz Bäumer, a renowned Place Vendôme jeweler.

Three single malts are aged in Sauvignon barrels, precious cognac barrels, and a special cask. The aromas and flavors from this special cask are captivating, and the distillery’s whisky maker, Gaëtan Mariolle, wishes to keep the source confidential.

DICTADOR Orlinski 5 Decades Collection – Hand-Painted Edition

Dictador has created a true work of art bottle, making waves in the market. The series, blended by master distiller Hernan Parra, uses rums from casks from 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996, and 2006, representing fifty years of Richard Orlinski’s life and work. Parra personally selected the best oak casks from his family’s private Colombian stock for this exceptional creation. Each bottle’s color varies with the artist’s mood at the time of creation.

THE DALMORE Dalmore Constellation Series 1969 Cask No.1 Elie Bleu Limited Edition

Dalmore has partnered with the world-renowned handcrafted brand Elie Bleu to create 8 highly collectible humidors inspired by Dalmore’s ‘Constellation’ series single malt whisky.

For 180 years, Dalmore has continuously refined its distillation, creating whisky masterpieces. As a visionary distiller, Dalmore’s enterprising spirit and pursuit of ultimate craftsmanship never cease.

Dalmore Constellation Series 1969 Cask No.1 was initially matured for 40 years in precious American white oak ‘Quercus Alba,’ deeply absorbing color and beauty from the mighty barrel. Over 40 long years, the cask developed soft vanilla and honey aromas. The spirit was then re-casked into small-batch bourbon barrels for an additional 3 years of aging. This final cask finish created the perfect conclusion for this whisky.

The collaboration with Elie Bleu witnesses the birth of this unique custom product, an unprecedented art collection of peak craftsmanship.

Macallan has launched the new ‘M Collection,’ a limited edition single malt whisky series that celebrates Macallan’s acclaimed ‘The Six Pillars.’ The Six Pillars include: natural color, pride of craftsmanship, curiously small stills, the Macallan estate, finest oak casks, and sherry-seasoned oak casks—the foundations of Macallan’s exceptional whisky. The natural colors of the M Collection perfectly embody these unique traits and reflect the emotional connection with consumers. The first three expressions are the 2022 editions of the previously released M, M Black, and the new M Copper, with M Copper honoring the distinctive copper stills used since Macallan’s founding in 1824.

Tomatin Single Malt Whisky – Tomatin Warehouse 6 - 1976 Single Malt Whisky

This fine spirit was safely stored in Warehouse No.6, slowly matured in hand-selected traditional oak casks, and bottled in 1976, presenting a subtle fruitiness. The cask keeper waited patiently over four and a half years, witnessing this unique and extremely complex expression while retaining great youthful vibrancy, achieving remarkable balance.

Champagne Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs Assemblage Three (A3) is crafted from select premium fruits, including the finest Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims appellations such as Bouzy, Verzenay, Ludes, and Rilly La Montagne. The blend includes vintages 2009, 2010, and 2012. The finished wine aged in the cellar for 6 years until April 9, 2019, when 3,535 bottles were disgorged. Each bottle of Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs A3 bears a unique number (1 to 3,535), showcasing the rarity, exclusivity, and collectibility of this super-premium cuvée, in addition to its disgorgement date.

In 1533, Jean de Pontac acquired the estate of Haut Brion, giving birth to a wine estate whose remarkable heritage has been preserved and enhanced by four families over the centuries. In 1749, the heir Joseph de Fumel continued the work of his predecessors. An American financier and enthusiast of Château Haut Brion purchased the estate in 1935. Robert Parker scores: 94 (2011), 100 (2015), 97-99 (2016); James Suckling scores: 96 (2011), 97-98 (2015), 100 (2016).
