Wearing My Beloved Lolita Dress: Strolling Through Osaka in Lolita Fashion
Lolita dresses are super popular in China right now!
Usually I wear simple clothes, but sometimes I just want to dress up to the fullest. Now, in my home country of China, Lolita fashion is very popular. On a nice day off, I invited my friend Neko-chan, who also loves Lolita dresses, to explore some Osaka sights I’d always wanted to visit.
Lolita dress shops are mostly concentrated in Amerika-mura
Osaka’s fashion hub, Amerika-mura, is packed with all kinds of trendy shops, including many Lolita dress stores that I love.
Among the countless fashion shops, we chose the brand “BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT,” which has even appeared in movies, and went on a shopping spree!! We also tried on new dresses!
Every dress here has a story, which is why they’re so well-loved. Just by wearing a dress, I feel like the heroine of each story. Dressing up with a friend lets us compliment each other and learn styling tips. Neko-chan and I have different favorite types of Lolita dresses, so just watching her outfits is a pleasure!
The dresses we tried on fit perfectly, as if the staff knew our preferences. I’m really looking forward to future new releases!☆
Relaxing at the lush Osaka Castle Park
Next, we went to Osaka Castle Park. I’d been wanting to visit JO-TERRACE OSAKA since it opened two years ago. Apparently, a “Ramen Alley” with various ramen shops has recently opened there too, adding more stores.
We went to the Italian restaurant “NATURA.” The pie-style pizza (which they call “pizza pie”) is said to be very popular, so we ordered several and had fun sharing the deliciousness.
Since it’s inside a park, the area is full of greenery, and just taking a walk is relaxing. It’s amazing that Osaka has such a large park right in the city.
Nakazaki-cho: A retro-style street
Since we’d bought a one-day pass, we decided to go a bit farther and check out Nakazaki-cho. This is a popular spot in Osaka that still retains a retro street atmosphere. There are many cafes and mysterious little shops, and it’s one of the places I wanted to visit while wearing a Lolita dress☆
We took a break at the Asian-style cafe “Cafe Malacca” and ordered shaved ice (kakigori) and a blueberry pie. The shaved ice had star anise, which is common in China, and was really interesting! The handmade desserts weren’t too sweet and were super delicious♪
Walking around and taking photos in our lovely Lolita dresses was so fun! Not only did we have a wonderful day off, but we also got tons of beautiful pictures—I’m completely satisfied.
