#2024.4Qingming# Kansai, Wakayama, Nagoya, Takayama, Shirakawa-go
A one-day tour gave me 2 Kansai Enjoy Passes, which can be used for free rides on Osaka Bay cruise and Umeda Sky Building.
I booked the Sagano Romantic Train in advance, but unfortunately there were no cherry blossoms. The Hozugawa River cruise lasted an hour and a half, and halfway there was a supply boat selling grilled squid. Arashiyama was extremely crowded. In the afternoon, I went to Kobe Sannomiya's Chinatown. This time I ate Kobe beef; it was indeed delicious.
In the morning, I took photos in a kimono. The weather was nice, and a few cherry blossoms had bloomed. In the evening, Yasaka Shrine was full of night market stalls, especially lively.
I joined a one-day tour to Wakayama. At noon, we went to Toretore Fish Market. The weather by the sea was bad. In the evening, Shinsaibashi was packed with people. I also went to a 24-hour supermarket to buy snacks.
On a rainy day, I went to a hot spring. At noon, I had okonomiyaki at a local place. It was so popular that there was a queue. In Chinatown, I had almond ice cream. In the evening, I browsed the B1 floor of Hankyu Department Store, which had lots of desserts and prepared foods. Then I walked along Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street from 6-chome to 3-chome. It was all covered, so the rain didn't affect it.
In the morning, I took the Shinkansen to Nagoya. I had to first tap out at the gate record before I could buy the Shinkansen ticket. The weather was okay. I visited Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Shrine. In the afternoon, I went to Oasis 21 and had unagi rice. There was a long queue.
I joined a one-day tour. The weather was average. In the morning, there was Miyagawa Morning Market. The pudding was super delicious. Shirakawa-go was very unique. In the evening, I had yakitori. I took the Shinkansen back to Osaka. The hotel was right next to the airport bus stop.
On the last day, I spontaneously went to Himeji Castle. It's about an hour by JR from Osaka. Himeji Castle is larger in scale than Osaka Castle and Nagoya Castle. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and beautiful. Many locals came to have picnics in the park. The keep needs to be visited early, otherwise it gets crowded. It's quite popular. The nearby Hommachi shopping street is great to explore. At noon, the stalls at the entrance of Himeji Castle started popping up, making it very lively.
