2025 Osaka Cherry Blossom Story

This spring, Osaka's cherry blossoms are brilliantly blooming!

The language of cherry blossoms is 'beauty of heart' and elegant virtue. This spring is just around the corner. Osaka's cherry blossoms will soon enter their best viewing season.

In a park of about 100 hectares, approximately 3,000 cherry trees proudly bloom, making it one of the top cherry blossom viewing spots in the Kansai region.

At 'Nishinomaru Garden,' you can see about 300 cherry trees with Osaka Castle's main tower in the background. Every year, it attracts many visitors for flower viewing.

Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line: About 3 minutes on foot from Exit 2 of 'Osaka Business Park Station'

Tanimachi Line / Chuo Line: About 6 minutes on foot from Exit 1-B of 'Tanimachi 4-chome Station'

Tanimachi Line: About 8 minutes on foot from Exit 3 of 'Tenmabashi Station'

From the Okawa River's Kema Washing Weir to Tenmabashi, a riverside park about 4.2 km long.

Along the Okawa riverbank, there is a cherry tree-lined path with about 4,800 trees, a renowned cherry blossom spot.

Open to the public for only one week each year during the cherry blossom season, the 'Japan Mint Cherry Blossom Avenue' is a poetic spring tradition in Osaka.

In 2025, the cherry blossom viewing event will be held by advance registration.

Tanimachi Line / Sakaisuji Line: About 13 minutes on foot from Exit 3 of 'Minami-morimachi Station'

Evening cherry blossoms are also beautiful.

From Tenmabashi Bridge over the Okawa River, you can overlook the cherry blossom-lined avenue along the riverbank. At night, the cherry blossoms are illuminated, presenting a completely different scenery from daytime.

Tanimachi Line: Directly from the exit of 'Tenmabashi Station'

Built by Prince Shotoku, 'Shitennoji Temple' is the earliest official temple of Japanese Buddhism. Inside the temple, at the 'Gokuraku Jodo Garden,' you can enjoy a beautiful view of about 50 cherry blossom trees interwoven with a Japanese garden.

Tanimachi Line: About 4 minutes on foot from Exit 4 of 'Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station'

Midosuji Line / Tanimachi Line: About 9 minutes on foot from Exit 17 of 'Tennoji Station'

In the urban oasis 'Utsubo Park,' these are Kanhizakura (winter cherry blossoms). They bloom earlier than ordinary cherry blossoms, have a deep pink color, and hang downward.

Chuo Line / Sennichimae Line: About 4 minutes on foot from Exit 1 of 'Awaza Station'

Midosuji Line / Yotsubashi Line / Chuo Line: About 4 minutes on foot from Exit 28 of 'Hommachi Station'

These are Kanhizakura. They bloom earlier than ordinary cherry blossoms, have a deep pink color, and hang downward.

In a vast sports park of about 70 hectares, approximately 500 cherry trees proudly bloom.

You can jog while viewing cherry blossoms or enjoy hanami under the trees—a hidden gem.

There are many other cherry blossom spots along the Osaka Metro line.

To find hidden cherry blossom spots, it is recommended to go one station further.
