【Opening Soon】Latest Report on Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai Part 1

📍 Osaka · 👁 1980 reads

Opening soon! On April 13, 2025, “Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai” will finally begin.

The theme of this World Expo is the grand concept of “life.” So what kind of future experiences await us!?

This article, as Part 1 of the latest report on “Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai,” provides essential information you need to know before visiting the Expo, including recommended visiting periods, introductions to Japan-themed pavilions, and reservation methods.

The Osaka, Kansai Expo is expected to attract around 200,000 visitors per day during peak season. For a more comfortable visit, when should you go? Based on Osaka’s weather and crowd conditions, I’ve researched the best visiting times!

🌸 The best period to avoid crowds and enjoy a comfortable visit is April to June!

For those who dislike crowds or want to avoid congestion, I recommend visiting on weekdays from April to June (excluding the consecutive holidays from April 27 to May 6). Especially after the holiday period, around mid-May, visitor numbers are expected to be lower.

The cherry blossom season from April to May and June are relatively warm and comfortable times in Japan, mostly pleasant. However, the rainy season starts in late June, with higher rainfall probability, so keep a close eye on weather changes!

If you want to minimize crowds and have a comfortable experience, it’s best to avoid holidays and visit from April to June before the rainy season.

☀️ Osaka summers are scorching! Beware of heatstroke from July to September!

Osaka is one of the hottest cities in Japan. As the rainy season ends in mid-July, temperatures rise, with intense heat lasting until September. In midsummer, maximum temperatures often exceed 35°C, and in extremely hot years can reach 38–40°C…!

If you plan to visit from July to September, take heat prevention measures such as using hats or parasols for shade, carrying cooling packs or spray, staying hydrated, and taking frequent breaks.

🗓️ You can also plan your itinerary based on events that interest you!

On opening day, the famous artist “Ado” will perform an OPENING SPECIAL live show, and events will be held almost daily during the Expo. Surprisingly, watching live concerts and performances at the Expo venue requires no extra charge! In addition to daily live entertainment and shows, special exhibition days and national pavilion days hosted by participating countries are also worth noting.

Explore near-future Expo pavilions using cutting-edge technology! Some pavilions collaborate with Japan’s unique anime, characters, and games ♪

① “Astro Boy” and “Black Jack” will appear at the PASONA Group Pavilion provided by PASONA Group Co., Ltd.

The PASONA Group Pavilion’s “PASONA NATUREVERSE” concept is “Gratitude for life.”

Through exhibits themed around “body, mind, and bonds,” visitors can learn about “the future of sleep,” “the future of medicine,” and other medical futures, as well as the history and future of life.

The PASONA Group Pavilion has chosen the manga characters “Astro Boy” and “Black Jack” by Japan’s famous manga artist Osamu Tezuka as guides. Both are super-popular heroes who laid the foundation for Japanese anime’s global popularity.

Astro Boy, a robot with a heart, will serve as the pavilion’s chief guide! Together with Astro Boy, learn about the history of life, understand human wisdom, and the design of future society—you will surely rediscover gratitude for life.

Additionally, the genius surgeon “Black Jack” will guide in the “Body (Future Medicine)” area, introducing iPS cell–grown “iPS hearts” and the latest medical technologies. You can ponder philosophical questions like “What is life?”, “What is happiness?”, and “What is a truly affluent society?” with Black Jack, gaining a valuable experience.

A pavilion worth visiting to learn about life’s history and value while experiencing future medicine. Come meet “Astro Boy” and “Black Jack” ♪

② Meet a life-sized Gundam! GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION

Exhibited by Bandai Namco Holdings Inc., the “GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION.”

It is said that you can experience a world line where “space living” depicted in the popular Japanese anime “Mobile Suit Gundam” series becomes commonplace through visuals! You can easily travel to a space station via an orbital elevator, and mobile suits become tangible coexistents with humans—an experience that fully immerses you in the Gundam universe.

Thinking about the possibilities of the future alongside Gundam and sharing them with people worldwide is truly exciting!

The pavilion’s exterior is designed like a futuristic space airport. Outside, there is also a life-sized Gundam statue about 17m tall! With one hand raised high pointing to the sky, it symbolizes exploring the possibilities of space and reaching for the future. After experiencing the pavilion, you’ll want to strike the same pose as Gundam for a commemorative photo ♪

③ Is the Monster Hunter world becoming reality!? Osaka Healthcare Pavilion @ XD HALL

Inside the “XD HALL” built as part of the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, Osaka-based game company CAPCOM will unveil a globally exclusive immersive experience content developed specifically for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai: “MONSTER HUNTER BRIDGE”!

The “XD HALL” features a cylindrical theater with a ground diameter of about 12m and height of about 5m. Using the latest technologies such as dedicated AR devices, a 360-degree theater, immersive sound, and floor vibrations, you can interact with Palicos and feel the impact of monsters lunging at you, engaging all five senses in the world of “Monster Hunter” ✨

It’s a special entertainment experience where “dreams and reality merge.” As an unprecedented immersive attraction, it has drawn global attention ♪

④ Immersive Entertainment Experience! Gas Pavilion Ghost Dreamland

Exhibited by the Japan Gas Association, the “Gas Pavilion Ghost Dreamland” is an entertainment pavilion where you wear special glasses and experience the ghost dream world for about 40 minutes!

In this ghost dreamland where you can have anything you want to eat, stylish items, or fun things, you’ll feel “I want this, I want that, I want more,” which resonates somewhat with modern consumer society.

Beyond excitement and thrills, it conveys a strong message: “If humans are to coexist with the Earth and create a prosperous future, each of us must change our awareness and behavior.” It’s an Expo-specific entertainment pavilion where you can learn about the importance of changing (transforming) awareness and behavior, as well as future energy knowledge.

The uniquely cute ghosts appearing in the pavilion are also worth noting ♪
