I have hosted many travelers, many of them friends' parents, but Uncle Ding's family is truly special.

Uncle Ding, about 60 years old, made every conversation with him on the road delightful and interesting. Before the trip, his daughter specifically told me that Uncle Ding had accidentally injured his leg while traveling on a glacier in New Zealand, so I should try to park as close as possible to each attraction to minimize his walking distance. Although Uncle Ding has traveled to many countries and every journey has given him a broad worldview, he repeatedly emphasized that this might be his last trip abroad, so I hoped to leave him with the most beautiful memories of Eastern Canada. As an educator, Uncle Ding approached our journey with a scholar's curiosity. At every stop, whether a historical site or natural scenery, he would earnestly ask about the background stories and culture of the place. It seemed that each answer brought him closer to the true face of Canada.

Ottawa's Historical Foundations: When we arrived in Ottawa, Uncle Ding was full of anticipation to explore Canada's political heart. While touring Parliament Hill, I could feel that he was not just admiring the Gothic Revival architecture but trying to understand Canada's early governance through these historical traces. His questions delved deeply into Canadian policies and the nation's evolution, and he listened especially attentively as I recounted how Canada gradually built its unique identity.

Montreal's Ancient Charm: Starting from Montreal, we strolled through the old town, watching the sparkle in Uncle Ding's eyes. Together we admired the Notre-Dame Basilica and walked along cobblestone streets that carry centuries of history. Uncle Ding was curious about every detail, from architectural styles to the history of French immigrants, as if traveling through time to experience the city's ancient charm firsthand.

Quebec City's Classical Elegance: Quebec City deeply captivated him. We wandered through narrow streets, their surroundings full of old-world elegance and charm.
