2021 May Day Holiday: Family Road Trip to Seaside City Qingdao – Accommodation & Food Guide
Back in my school days, I always dreamed of visiting a city by the sea. How wonderful it must feel to stand on the shore with the sea breeze blowing! My first trip to Qingdao was right after my high school graduation. My friends and I took a bus, and our first stop was Golden Beach. I was so excited—the endless ocean was incredibly beautiful. We went on a speedboat, visited the Beer City, and strolled along Tangdao Bay. Everything was as wonderful as I had imagined. As evening came, we still hadn't figured out dinner or accommodation, so we searched Ctrip for highly rated places nearby. We chose the Huangdao Blue Sea Hotel, a star-rated hotel. The dining options looked plentiful, and it was next to the Petroleum University, so we thought we could also stroll around the campus. When we walked into the hotel lobby, the staff were so warm. A young man was very friendly, helped us check in, asked if we were tourists, and told us a lot about fun places to visit. They even had travel guides at the front desk. My friends and I felt we had made the right choice, haha. He escorted us to the elevator and told us to feel free to contact him anytime. We gave him a thumbs-up for his service! The buffet dinner was also great—the dishes were abundant, and most were made by the hotel itself, with almost no pre-made items, so we felt at ease eating there. After dinner, we went for a walk on the Shida (Petroleum University) campus. University life was so nice—watching the students chatting and laughing, seeing how big and beautiful the campus was, it gave me many wonderful daydreams. When we returned to our room at night, we found a milky night snack and pastries on the table, along with a foot bath basin, and a note. I was really touched—it felt like home. This trip was not only fun but also the accommodation and food left us very satisfied! We agreed that next time we come to Huangdao, we must stay at Blue Sea again!
Two years later, during the May Day holiday, my family and I came again. This time I directly called to book the Huangdao Blue Sea Hotel, and told my family that not only was the food and stay good, but the service was even better. We first went to the hotel to check in. The hotel was still very busy; there were quite a few people checking in, so the staff took us to the lobby bar to wait for a while. Light, cheerful music was playing, and there were small snacks, which instantly relieved our fatigue. Soon a staff member told us we could proceed with check-in. The front desk staff apologized repeatedly for making us wait. The quality of the Blue Sea staff is really high. My mom even said to me, 'See, you should learn from their manners—then you'll be liked wherever you go.' Haha, it's true. After checking in and entering our room, we found buckwheat pillows, as well as fruit. When booking the room, I had mentioned that my family didn't like soft pillows—they really paid attention to every detail. After unpacking, we went to the buffet. The buffet was even better than last time—there were many fresh seafood items, plus Hong Kong-style dishes, barbecue, and the roast duck was top-notch. My family said the buffet was so rich that you couldn't even try everything in one go, haha. No exaggeration at all. But I must recommend their homemade yogurt and pastries—they are my favorites! If you come here to eat, you must try them! Finally, I want to say: if you also come to Huangdao for a trip, you must stay at Blue Sea. It covers accommodation, food, and transportation, and it will be the best experience of your journey!
