A Kangaroo Vacationing in Qingdao: Returning to Simplicity, Living a Secluded Life

Life is a practice, and what we practice is the heart. The busy pace of the city often becomes restless due to some things, and at such times we need to find a quiet corner, away from the hustle and bustle, get close to nature, listen to the inner voice, and let life return to its most comfortable state. Returning to simplicity is a noble attitude towards life and the highest realm of life practice.

Perhaps having stayed too long in the concrete jungle of the city, we always yearn for a life facing the sea with a gentle breeze, where opening the window brings the fragrance of flowers, plants, and earth, allowing us to frolic freely in the mountains and forests. The Kangaroo Hotel, a vacation spot in Laoshan, Qingdao, fulfilled my beautiful fantasies, allowing me to live a life like a paradise in a tranquil space for a few days.

This is a house with soul and warmth. Three buildings with green walls are full of vitality. From a distance, they are hidden in the hundreds of acres of tea plantations halfway up the mountain in Qingdao Fishing Village, nestled between mountains and sea, away from the city, glittering like green gems set between the mountains and the sea, isolated and independent.

The hotel is positioned as a high-end resort series, with a total of ten guest rooms, independent reception rooms, a western restaurant, an outdoor viewing platform, and other facilities. Each room has a different style and excellent views. Staying here allows you to enjoy private butler service. No wonder even though the price is relatively high, guests come in an endless stream, and you need to book in advance to get a room. It is very popular locally.

We experienced two types of rooms: Light Luxury A and Light Luxury B. Each has its unique charm: comfortable, warm, cozy, bright. Every second we stayed here made us seriously perceive the beauty and carefreeness of nature.

The room layout is full of design sense, with all supporting facilities. To vacation here, you only need to bring a few personal items. Looking closely, the bathroom fixtures are all from the international big brand Hansgrohe, comfortable goose down quilts, and toiletries are full sets of Italian Acca Kappa. The Bluetooth speaker has excellent sound quality, allowing you to enjoy five-star service all the time.

The rustic decorations and the window-side hanging chair make it impossible to recall the noise of the city once you close your eyes. You just want to quietly indulge in the charming atmosphere. The welcome gift is a handwritten card, along with local drinks and fruits from Laoshan.

In the morning, waking up naturally, we went to the western restaurant, facing the sea, and had a rich and exquisite breakfast, starting a day full of energy, and our mood became particularly wonderful.

After breakfast, we could return to the room to read and relax comfortably. The fabric sofa was large and soft. The elegant environment made the whole body relax. Occasionally, looking at the wind and clouds outside the window, it felt like a dynamic landscape painting, intoxicating.

The outdoor balcony was also ingenious, with a wide view. We spent the afternoon being kissed by the sun on a rattan hammock, leisurely.

In the afternoon, when the weather was not too hot, we could walk about five minutes to the nearby ancient tree, swing on a romantic swing, look at the lush greenery, and completely immerse ourselves in the mountains and wilderness, which was also a great enjoyment.

Of course, we could also go to the hotel's western restaurant, overlooking the hundreds of acres of tea plantations and the sea view, and enjoy a beautiful afternoon tea.

In the evening, we could have a sumptuous western candlelight dinner under the starry sky.

Every dish was visually appealing, and the taste was not at all inferior to those brand-name restaurants, especially suitable for dates with girlfriends or lovers.

Before it was completely dark, we could also take a walk on the nearby beach to digest. Fishing boats in the distance were slowly returning, painting a beautiful picture of fishing village life.

The next day at noon, the room type we booked also came with a complimentary German Hans luxury yacht couple package worth over 2,000 RMB, enjoying a one-hour sailing experience at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center. During the trip, we could take in the panoramic view of the coastal city of Qingdao.

Every casual shot looked like a masterpiece. The sea breeze blowing against our faces made us feel cool. On the boat, we bounced together, told interesting stories along the way, and laughter drifted away with the waves, leaving behind beautiful silhouettes.
