May in Qingdao is as beautiful as Mr. Lao She once described. Because spring arrives late here, cherry blossoms only come into full bloom in late April as usual. Once the cherry blossoms open, even the wind and fog can't stop the plants from growing. Begonias, lilacs, peaches, pears, apples, wisteria, and azaleas all race into flower. Tender green leaves appear by walls and along roadsides. In May, the island is filled with the scent of blossoms, and early in the morning you can hear flower sellers calling out. The hills turn green, a soft green that makes the pines and cypresses seem almost black by contrast. The sea in May seems especially green, especially lovely—perhaps because people's hearts feel lighter? Glance at the green leaves along the roadside, then at the sea, and truly, you will understand what is meant by 'spring as deep as the sea.' I believe many people are deeply attracted to Qingdao, and visitors come in a steady stream all year round.

During this May Day holiday, I attended a grand wedding of a friend at the 'Chengyang Blue Sea Yuhua Grand Hotel' in Qingdao's Chengyang district. From the moment I received the invitation, I was very excited, looking forward to the day mainly because I hoped to see many long-lost friends—just thinking about it made me giddy. On the wedding day, we arrived early. Some friends from out of town had booked rooms in advance, and we wanted the kids to have more time to play together.

From the moment we entered the hotel, everything from the décor to the service was top-notch. In the lobby, a lobby manager greeted us with a smile and asked if we needed help. She patiently explained the hotel's basic information. When I told her my friend had a reservation, she kindly guided us to the elevator, making us feel so welcomed—professional yet full of warmth. The room was an even greater surprise. I'd been to the Chengyang Blue Sea Yuhua for its buffet several times but never knew they had such lovely, cozy family rooms. The room was decorated with Little Yellow Duck and Paul Frank motifs, with a very large bed—it looked about two meters wide—and an extra small bed. The living area had a tent and a slide; the children absolutely loved it, and could have happily played in the room all day. My friend said she'd compared many hotels on Ctrip and finally chose this one because of the excellent online reviews. She wasn't disappointed. Her two little ones didn't even want to go downstairs for breakfast, and the younger one, who usually needs to be coaxed into bathing, actually took the initiative to take a bubble bath in the tub.

Time flies when you're with kids. Before we knew it, it was almost noon. The wedding banquet was on the hotel's third floor, and the whole hall was used for the event—very grand. The servers were clearly professionals, neatly and uniformly dressed, and the space was orderly. The banquet dishes were as pleasing to the eye as the venue décor, with great flavors and generous portions. Dining here felt like being in a high-end private room; every dish came with serving forks and spoons, making it reassuringly hygienic. The waitstaff would rush over to ask if you needed anything before you even had to stand up; the atmosphere was wonderful. The romance and warmth of the wedding reminded me of my own, and in that moment, I decided that I must come back for my younger brother's wedding in two years, and let more friends experience what real service means.

It's late now, and my brain is protesting for rest. Anyway, I strongly recommend the Chengyang Blue Sea Yuhua Grand Hotel in Qingdao. I hope more friends can enjoy its outstanding service, and I hope everyone visits Qingdao more often.
