Qingdao Beer Festival – A Great Summer Destination: Family Trips, Couples' Getaways, and Travel Tips

The Qingdao Beer Festival has just opened! I headed to Huangdao with my family and booked the Lanhai Grand Hotel (Qingdao Petroleum University Branch) on Ctrip. The hotel is located at No. 66, Changjiang West Road, Huangdao District, Qingdao.

As we entered the gate, the friendly security guard greeted us warmly, and a smiling young bellboy ran over to help with our luggage right away — we instantly felt the excellent service here. At check-in, the front desk staff kindly handed us three towels and three glasses of sour plum juice, which was a delightful touch. After checking in, the lobby manager helped carry our luggage to the room. The room was spotless, and every staff member we met greeted us politely. During a chat, they learned we had come from Linyi to visit Qingdao and eagerly introduced local attractions and routes, with special emphasis on the newly opened Beer Festival. They recommended going at night for the spectacular light show and various performances. Our room faced the sea — we could see the ocean right from the window! There was even a small fridge. We rested a while in the room and then headed out.

When we returned in the evening, we found hot milk, a facial puff, and a hair clip waiting on the desk — such a thoughtful gesture. The bed had been neatly made, and the quilt tidied up; it felt just like coming home.

The next day, we asked at the front desk how to get to downtown Qingdao. The young man gave us a Qingdao tourist map and the hotel’s business card so we could contact them anytime. We spent the day visiting spots like May Fourth Square and Zhanqiao Pier. As dusk approached, we returned to find our room cleaned, with extra bottles of mineral water added and fresh fruit replenished. The night before, we had washed some clothes but hadn’t had time to hang them on the balcony — when we came back, the housekeeping lady had already hung them out for us. It’s the little things that show just how thoughtful and meticulous the hotel’s service is.

On the third day, we checked out. The front desk lady was efficient and asked if we were satisfied with our stay. I said I was very satisfied — and truly grateful for how they actively helped solve any little problems, and for all the sightseeing tips and directions they shared, which saved us from wasting time due to unfamiliar routes. She even gave us some fruit as a parting gift.

That’s my short three-day, two-night trip. I didn’t know much about this hotel at first, but after staying there, I have to say it’s really great! Highly recommended! Nice!
