Experience Japanese Flair at the Japan Brand Festival, Qingdao Aeon Mall

The Japan Brand Festival is a highly entertaining expo covering all aspects of daily life, from clothing and food to housing and transportation, held annually across China.

Qingdao is one of the cities with the closest exchanges and cooperation with Japan in China. In 1979, Liao Chengzhi, President of the China-Japan Friendship Association, led the 'Minghua' Sino-Japanese Friendship Ship to visit Shimonoseki and other places in Japan. Shimonoseki became Qingdao’s first sister city and the first pair of friendship cities in Shandong Province. Last May, the Qingdao Japan 'International Living Room' officially opened, building a new bridge to deepen cooperation and friendship between the two sides.

Now, on October 30 (Saturday, 9:30–22:00) to 31 (Sunday, 9:30–21:00), 2021, this weekend, the Qingdao Japan Brand Festival will be held at the West Square of Aeon Mall Qingdao West Coast New Area (No. 1669 Lijiang West Road, West Coast New Area, Qingdao). Stage Performances

Nagasaki – Tuna Cutting Show

Tuna cutting is one of Japan’s most ceremonial traditional banquets. It is a ritual of appreciating nature’s gifts and pursuing the ultimate in taste, while also adhering to Japanese culinary customs and carrying auspicious meanings. Therefore, Nagasaki Prefecture has brought this rare cutting show. The tuna meat is tender, delicious, and rich in fat, hailed as the top ingredient for sashimi. After the show, the sliced sashimi will be distributed to the audience for free tasting. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Aikido

Aikido is a defensive and counterattack martial art that utilizes the attacker’s kinetic energy, manipulates energy, and emphasizes skillful control. Therefore, Aikido does not advocate proactive attacks. It stems from the modern martial art of Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu, with the main feature of 'using softness to overcome strength.' No matter how the attacker tries to be ferocious, the defender can neutralize it with minimal effort, subduing the opponent barehanded. We believe it will not disappoint any visitor.

Okinawa Sanshin Performance

The sanshin is a representative instrument of Okinawa. Walking through the streets and alleys of Okinawa at night, you can occasionally hear the melodious strings of the sanshin. Fireflies dance along the streets, quietly glowing under the dark sky. Now, the Qingdao Japan Brand Festival brings the rare opportunity to enjoy Okinawan music live in China – you must not miss it.

Ikebana

Ikebana, also known as the way of flowers, allows one to feel the changes of nature’s life through the creative arrangement of branches, leaves, flowers, and vessels. Judo

Judo is a competitive sport that involves unarmed grappling, combining hardness and softness. It exercises agility, strength, and mental qualities. It became an official Olympic sport in 1964. The three commonly used throwing techniques in judo are: shoulder throw, one-arm shoulder throw, and body drop. These techniques reflect not just physical competition but also the application of mental strategy. The Qingdao Japan Brand Festival sincerely invites everyone to come and experience it.
