Sichuan, abbreviated as "Chuan" or "Shu," with its capital Chengdu, is located in the hinterland of southwestern China. Since ancient times, it has been known as the "Land of Abundance" and serves as the gateway to western China and the hometown of giant pandas. Today, Sichuan borders Chongqing, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, and Shaanxi provinces and municipalities. The eastern part of Sichuan consists of parallel ridge valleys and central Sichuan hills, the central part is the Chengdu Plain, and the western part is the Western Sichuan Plateau.
Sichuan boasts splendid natural scenery, including world-famous tourist attractions such as Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, Dujiangyan, Qingcheng Mountain, Leshan Giant Buddha, Mount Emei, Sanxingdui, Jinsha Site, Wuhou Shrine, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Kuanzhai Alley, Langzhong Ancient City, Hailuogou, Siguniang Mountain, and Daocheng Yading. From plateaus, mountains, and canyons to basins, hills, and plains, from rivers and lakes to hot springs and waterfalls, from karst areas to Danxia landforms, the scenery is magnificent, unique, and charming. The air and beauty of Sichuan are truly suitable for post-pandemic travel and relaxation.
When traveling to Sichuan, there are several must-visit places. The top one is Jiuzhaigou. As the saying goes, "After visiting the Yellow Mountains, no other mountains compare; after visiting Jiuzhaigou, no other waters compare." God spilled his palette in Jiuzhaigou, with snow-capped peaks, dense forests, and colorful pools and shallows, earning it the name "Beautiful Fairy Tale World."
As the Land of Abundance, Sichuan has a pleasant climate all year round and has become a popular online resort destination in recent years. The scenic spots around Chengdu are also incredibly beautiful, such as Jiuzhaigou, Dujiangyan, Daocheng Yading, Panda Base, Mount Emei, Qingcheng Mountain, Huanglongxi, and Leshan Giant Buddha. These are all must-visit places. Since Sichuan's attractions are relatively scattered, arranging hotels, routes, and tickets on your own can be too cumbersome. For first-time visitors, it is best to find a reliable local guide to make the trip more convenient and hassle-free.
Introduction to Major Scenic Spots in Sichuan:
Jiuzhaigou: This magical stream displays different colors every year, surrounded by vast primeval forests, mountains, and snow-capped peaks. It would be a pity not to witness such a wonder.
Mount Emei: Renowned for its strong Buddhist culture, it is a famous Buddhist sacred site in Sichuan and China. The Golden Summit of Mount Emei has been famous throughout history, and various Buddhist ceremonies will dazzle you.
Leshan Giant Buddha: At the feet of the Leshan Giant Buddha flow the Three Rivers, and taking a boat tour offers a unique experience.
Dujiangyan: This man-made weir, built during the pre-Qin period, tamed the Min River, preventing floods from the Chengdu Plain. Today, the Dujiangyan Li Bing Museum allows visitors to appreciate the great wisdom of the ancients.
Huanglong Scenic Area: Located at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, this area features a mix of forests, waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, canyons, and vast primeval forests. Visitors will marvel at the power and wonder of nature.
Kuanzhai Alley: Located near Changshun Street in Qingyang District, Chengdu, it consists of Wide Alley, Narrow Alley, and Well Alley arranged in parallel, all with black-brick and gray-tile replica quadrangle courtyards. It is one of the remaining large-scale Qing Dynasty ancient streets in Chengdu, and together with Daci Temple and Wenshu Monastery, it is known as one of the three major historical and cultural preservation blocks in Chengdu.
Jinli: Legend has it that Jinli was one of the oldest and most commercial streets in Western Shu history, famous nationwide as early as the Qin-Han and Three Kingdoms periods. Today, Jinli relies on Chengdu's Wuhou Shrine, with the spirit of Qin-Han and Three Kingdoms as its soul, Ming and Qing styles as its appearance, and Western Sichuan folk customs as its content, expanding the connotation of Three Kingdoms culture.
Earlier this month, I traveled to Sichuan with my family. Initially, I didn't consider a travel agency, wanting to travel independently for more freedom. Sichuan has many pristine attractions, and we wanted to play for 7 days. After reading many guides (my head was spinning), I saw on Ctrip that a netizen introduced a local guide named Daage for quality independent travel in Sichuan. The netizen said he knows the local area very well, is honest and reliable, and can help arrange travel itineraries to save worry, hassle, and money.
Before departure, we contacted Daage to help plan our trip. After the trip, we calculated that he really saved us a lot of money and avoided many detours (Sichuan has many fun attractions, all centered around Chengdu but far apart, with underdeveloped transportation, so routes must be planned well).
For 7 days, each person only spent 1,080 yuan. We visited the most essential attractions like Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, Mount Emei, and Leshan Giant Buddha, stayed in quasi-four-star high-end hotels in Chengdu and characteristic inns in Jiuzhaigou, very comfortable. It included airport pickup and drop-off, truly great. To find a guide, search online: Sichuan Guide Daage.
