The Golden Summit has a crack in the middle, splitting it into two parts.

Each side has a temple: one enshrines Sakyamuni Buddha, the other Maitreya Buddha. From a distance, it looks like a fairy-tale world.

You can hike or take the cable car round-trip in a day. To the left of Mushroom Stone is the Instagram-famous "Red Cloud Golden Summit" (even more beautiful), while to the right is the highest point, "Old Golden Summit".

The Golden Summit of Mount Emei is covered in snow year-round, with a large temperature difference. The entire mountain is shrouded in forest and clouds, with temperatures 5°C lower than the city—an excellent choice for a cool summer retreat.

You can hike or take a bus and cable car up. However, the bus stops at Leidongping, where you need to walk 30 minutes on mountain trails before taking the cable car to the Golden Summit.

If you want to see the sunrise, stay overnight at Leidongping or the Golden Summit.
