Before this trip to Jiuzhaigou, I took a friend's recommendation and booked this Hotel Indigo under the IHG group. I initially only expected a place to stay, but it turned out that the hotel itself is an 'attraction'—what a delightful surprise. Jiuzhai Indigo is located in Zhongcha Valley, Langzhai Village, Zhangzha Town, Jiuzhaigou County, Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It's about a 1.5-hour drive from Huanglong Airport, and the hotel offers complimentary shuttle pick-up service. The staff blew conch shells to welcome us and presented us with khata scarves—a traditional and grand greeting that delighted us and the other arriving guests. The hotel's rich Tibetan and Qiang cultural experience: After a smooth check-in, I couldn't wait to explore the hotel. The decor is filled with Tibetan and Qiang cultural elements, from the wooden ceilings to the colorful carpets, all revealing a unique design sense that immerses you in the local cultural atmosphere. The guest rooms are designed with the theme 'Tibet·Tibet', embellished with traditional Qiang embroidery and the unique Thangka paintings of the Aba Tibetan region. Even the welcome tea and snack box features Tibetan cultural motifs—truly thoughtful. The bathtub in the room is large, and turning your head gives you a view of the mountains outside; soaking to relieve fatigue is pure bliss. The open dressing table is equipped with large bottles of Yulong body lotion, so you don't have to worry about dry skin when visiting the plateau. After a refreshing bath, pour a cup of clear tea, open a book, and enjoy a quiet moment on the spacious window seat. After a little rest in the room, it's time for food! The hotel restaurant design is themed 'Travel·Tibetan Neighborhood Culture', with a golden color palette that blends traditional Amdo Tibetan etiquette with British manor culture. Together with various local dishes, it fully satisfies both the eyes and the palate. After dinner, you can relax with a cappuccino in the café or enjoy a bowl of special butter tea on the hotel terrace, lazily letting your mind drift. The hotel pays great attention to guest entertainment; surprisingly, it even has a mahjong room beloved by Sichuanese. If you're free, you can gather three or four friends for a few rounds—it's great fun. Of course, to fully enjoy the tranquility of Jiuzhai Paradise, reading is also a good choice. Stroll to the hotel's library to flip through books or practice calligraphy, satisfying your spiritual needs. If you're traveling with kids, the hotel has a children's playground where they can have fun all day, giving parents more time to enjoy their own leisure. The hotel's afternoon tea is also worth trying: delicate pastries with special presentation, and the saffron-colored tableware whets your appetite. The cakes are sweet but not cloying, soft and smooth—an afternoon should be as lazy and pleasant as this. Since it's a holiday, indulge a little: have a barbecue dinner at the hotel! Mellow wine and local yak meat skewers are a perfect match. A few drinks, a few skewers, laughter and chatter—a wonderful evening should be spent like this with a few close friends. Nearby attractions and activities: As a true explorer, I never tire of discovering fun places. The Luneng Meilihui Town where the hotel is located is worth a visit, especially the Tibetan and Qiang Intangible Heritage Museum in the town, which is the best window to learn about local culture. The museum displays rich collections of artifacts and art, some dating back to the thousand-year-old Mandala culture. The museum's treasure—a 'Mandala' meticulously crafted from ground gemstone powder—is truly awe-inspiring. Outside the museum, you'll find many shops promoting local cultural and creative products: 'Tibetan paper, Tibetan incense, Tibetan carpets, Tibetan bath'—a complete Tibetan experience. In addition, the town has various specialty restaurants where you can enjoy authentic ethnic cuisine. It's worth noting that brands like KFC, Starbucks, and Watsons have also opened here, offering convenience to tourists and greatly boosting the town's commercial vitality. Whether you want to experience local folk customs or just relax and shop, Meilihui Town is well worth a visit. As for activities, the top recommendation is Green No.7 Paradise, an outdoor adventure project developed by Luneng Group in Zhongcha Valley. You can take a UTV all-terrain vehicle to the site and enjoy thrilling off-road driving. Once at Green No.7 Paradise, there are more experiences to try, including the Yak Paradise parent-child activity and the 'Brave the Forest' outdoor challenge. 'After visiting Jiuzhaigou, no other water scenery compares'—you must visit Jiuzhaigou at least once in your life. The final full day of exploring Jiuzhaigou was the highlight of the trip. More than 20 scenic spots in Jiuzhai Paradise each have their own charm, making people linger. From the quiet ripples of the Five-Color Pond to the crystal-clear waves of the Nuorilang Waterfall, while enjoying the beauty, we felt deep awe for nature's craftsmanship. This trip to Jiuzhaigou not only offered breathtaking scenery but also rich local cultural experiences. The 'fairy-tale hotel'—Jiuzhai Indigo—made the journey both comfortable and full of surprises. A good hotel greatly enhances the entire travel experience.
