Listed in Top 100! These Three Counties in Aba Prefecture Are Absolutely Amazing!

Yesterday (November 24),

the "China County Tourism Competitiveness Report 2022" was released,

and three counties in Aba Prefecture made it to

the 2022 (5th) List of Top 100 Counties with Tourism Development Potential in China:

Jiuzhaigou County, Songpan County, and Wenchuan County.

Absolutely amazing!

Songpan, an ancient city on the northwest Sichuan Plateau with a history of over 2,300 years, has been designated as a "Famous Historical and Cultural City of Sichuan Province" and a "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit." It was also a key border military town.

Songpan Ancient City is a historic city and a famous border stronghold in history, known as the "Gateway to Western Sichuan," historically a place for military deployment.

Natural and cultural landscapes complement each other here, with Huanglong, Mounigou, Songzhou Ancient City, Qizanggou... these beautiful sights adorning this small city.

The most famous is the Fairy Pool on Earth—Huanglong, where alpine landscapes and various forest ecosystems intermingle.

Xuebaoding, with an altitude of 5,588 meters, is a technical mountain located in Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan. It is also the main peak of the Minshan Mountains. It is called a technical mountain because its terrain is complex for climbing, requiring traversing steep slopes, scree slopes, ice and snow slopes, and snow cornices.

Zhaga Waterfall is located in Housigou, 30 kilometers southwest of the county seat. It forms a small scenic area consisting of primitive forests, Zhaga Canyon, and Zhaga Waterfall. In Tibetan, it is called "Ga Qixia," meaning rapid on white rock. The waterfall is 93.2 meters high and 35 meters wide.

Adjacent to Zhaga Waterfall is the Erdaohai Scenic Area, accessible via the Shangzhai direction. This comprehensive scenic area consists of several alpine lakes, sinkholes, caves, colorful ponds, hot springs, and emerald mineral spring meadows.

The autumn colors of Danyun Gorge will absolutely shock you—layers of colorful forests spread everywhere, like spring flowers in full bloom, red waves surging, and golden hues flowing, creating an intoxicating autumn painting. If you have enough time, sitting here for a while is pure enjoyment.

Galitai Grassland, located in Songpan County, northwestern Sichuan, is one of China's most lush pastures. On Galitai Grassland, you can experience the beautiful prairie scenery of "The sky is blue, the grass is vast, and when the wind blows, the cattle and sheep appear." Compared with the deserts of the north, it has a unique charm!

Qizanggou, with its diverse forms of earth and rock forests, vast meadows, and undulating snow-capped mountains, forms a stunning landscape painting.

There are also many delicious local Songpan foods, such as: authentic Songpan clay pot hotpot, smooth and sour suancai miankuai (sour vegetable noodle pieces), crispy and tasty sanzi (fried dough twists), hearty hand-grabbed meat, and other local delicacies.

Wenchuan has long been known as the City Without Worries. It is the Home of Pandas, the Hometown of Yu the Great, and Wellness Wenchuan. It is the birthplace of the legendary Yu the Great, one of the four major counties where the Qiang ethnic group resides, and a National Qiang Cultural Ecological Experience Zone.

The forest coverage rate in Jiuzhaigou exceeds 80%, with 38 species of vines, and a large number of nationally protected plants.
