A Museum Journey Through Beijing
Twenty years later, revisiting Beijing, wandering within the imperial city brought back a flood of memories—from the unchanged hutongs of Nanluoguxiang to new city landmarks like the Bird’s Nest. Beijing boasts the most World Heritage sites of any city, including the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall, and the Ming Tombs. I’ve visited those many times before, so this time my main purpose in returning was to explore the museums.
